PSG beat Liverpool 2-0 earlier this week in the Champions League quarterfinal first leg.

The Reds headed to Paris after suffering a crushing defeat to Manchester City over the weekend and with confidence low, Arne Slot set up in a way that would hopefully minimise further damage.

However, a tweak in formation and tactics backfired, as Liverpool failed to record a single shot on target and Giorgi Mamadarshvili had to make some important saves to keep the scoreline down.

PSG now head to Anfield with a sizeable advantage, and their morale is set to be boosted further by the return of Bradley Barcola to PSG’s matchday squad.

The French winger, who is a key part of PSG’s success under Luis Enrique, sat out the first leg at the Parc des Princes after suffering an ankle sprain.

During PSG’s 8-2 demolition of Chelsea in the previous round, Barcola had suffered the injury at Stamford Bridge in the second leg.

The player had returned to training before the game, but it was decided that it was too soon to put him back on to the pitch.

Now L’Equipe have confirmed that Barcola is set to return.

PSG will currently be enjoying a period of rest this weekend after Ligue 1 agreed to postpone their title deciding clash with Lens.

That will provide Bradley Barcola with the perfect opportunity to get up to speed in training before returning to the squad for the second leg.

It is a very different story for Liverpool, who face a crucial game against Fulham at Anfield on Saturday evening as they look to re-start their push for Champions League football next season.

With chances of winning the Champions League this season fading away, the clash against Fulham now feels that little bit more important.
