Liverpool’s search for a successor to Mohamed Salah has led them to one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting young forwards, with Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure emerging as a serious option for the Anfield hierarchy.

According to Sport Bild (as relayed by Get German Football News), the Anfield club view the 20-year-old Ivorian as a realistic candidate to help fill the huge void that will be left when Salah departs this summer.

Toure is enjoying a breakout campaign in Germany, registering 2 goals and 11 assists in 24 Bundesliga appearances and becoming the creative heartbeat of Christian Ilzer’s Hoffenheim team.

Liverpool scouts were reportedly also in attendance in March when he completed 90 minutes for Ivory Coast in a 1-0 friendly win over Scotland at Everton’s stadium, where his pace and resilience reportedly made a strong impression. The winger only joined Hoffenheim for €10m from Swedish side Hammarby in February 2025.

But any deal will not come cheap. Toure is under contract until 2029 and has no release clause, with a fee of around €40m said to be needed to tempt Hoffenheim into a sale – a figure that would also trigger a healthy sell‑on for Hammarby.

The Reds are also monitoring RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, but his €100m price tag makes Toure a far more attainable target in a window where several other areas of the squad may need attention.

What makes Toure particularly intriguing is his profile. Left-footed, comfortable off either flank, and already producing elite creative numbers in a top league before his 21st birthday.

He has 5 caps and 2 goals for Ivory Coast, shone at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, and is widely expected to make their World Cup squad this summer, meaning his value could rise sharply if he catches fire on the global stage.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are among the clubs that have also been credited with an interest in Toure.
