May marks the official start of wedding season, and once you’ve received the invitations and RSVP’d, the real work begins: figuring out what to wear to all those celebrations.
Navigating the various dress codes involved can be challenging, but there’s more to consider — like the event’s weather, venue and terrain, not to mention striking the right balance with your accessories.

These fancy functions call for elegant, elevated attire. You can never go wrong with a floor-length gown for a formal event, but midi dresses can work too. And don’t underestimate the power of accessories; heels, jewelry and a great clutch will help you elevate any black tie ensemble.

In between black tie and casual sits cocktail attire — festive, but not too formal. You’ve got options with this one; a knee-length, midi or tea-length dress works well, and while heels are always a great option, you could also do a pair of chic flats.

Headed to a wedding abroad or by the shore? Lucky you! These gatherings tend to be on the more casual side, so go with whatever hemline length you like. Prints and bright colors are a perfect fit for this kind of event — as are wedges and flat sandals, which will help you avoid sinking into the sand.
