Eric Clapton ended a recent concert in Spain early after he was struck by an object thrown by someone in the audience.

While performing at the Movistar Arena in Madrid on May 7, a concertgoer threw what appeared to be a vinyl record at the legendary guitarist, according to fan-captured video of the incident.

The viral clip shows Clapton walking on the stage when he’s hit by the object, which startled him and caused him to momentarily pause.

The European leg of Clapton’s 2026 tour kicked off in April and wraps with three dates in Germany between May 13 and May 17.

After a one-off show in the UK in August, he’ll take his show across the US with dates between Sept. 6 and Sept. 27.

Clapton’s recent experience of having a vinyl record thrown at him is the latest in an unfortunate pattern of bad behavior from concertgoers in recent years.
