At birth, Issac was diagnosed with a severe genetic disorder called Fanconi anemia.

The rare condition “keeps bone marrow from making blood cells and platelets” and babies born with it “may have physical differences,” per the Cleveland Clinic. Those with FA “may develop cancerous tumors earlier than people” without it.

Isaac underwent several surgeries over his 14 years of life, including receiving a kidney transplant at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2021.

At the time, Daniel updated his fans on Issac’s condition.

“Surgery update: Yesterday was a hard day for Isaac’s pain management, but we all got a little rest last night and things are improving today!” he captioned his post, which included a picture of Issac after surgery. “Kidney numbers already looking better than anything we’ve seen in years.”

In December 2025, Daniel announced that Issac had cancer “in his mouth.”

He wrote in the lengthy caption, “TBH, we always knew this day was coming, as it’s a near certainty w/ Fanconi anemia.”

While announcing his eldest son’s death in May 2026, Daniel praised the late teen for all he went through.

In December, Daniel shared a series of family photos from a vacation abroad, writing, “Family update time! I don’t do much personal sharing anymore as the kids show has grown, just to protect our peace a little bit.”

In the carousel, Levi and Issac could be seen smiling alongside both their parents, posing in solo images and enjoying fun activities across the UK.
