Officers were called to Central Forest Park in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent following reports of a sexual assault

Police are hunting a masked suspect dressed in all black after a woman was allegedly raped in a park.

Officers were called to Central Forest Park in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent on Wednesday June 17 following reports a woman in her twenties had been sexually assaulted in broad daylight.

The suspect was described as approximately 6ft 2 inches tall, wearing all black, and had their face covered. They are believed to have fled the area following the assault and are still at large.

Before the victim left the area, a male jogger ran past her as she was coming out of a shrubbed area and asked her if she was ok.

Police say they wish to contact this man to help them with their inquiries.

Specialist officers are currently supporting the victim in the aftermath of the attack, and detectives have asked anyone with information that may assist them to come forward.

Staffordshire Police said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone who may be able to help with our investigation who hasn’t already spoken to officers, or anyone who was in the park during these times and saw anything suspicious.
