A murder investigation has been launched following the death of 16-year-old Khadeem Parris, from Motherwell, Scotland, on Adnitt Road, Abington, Northampton

The family of a 16-year-old boy who died after a stabbing in Northampton have paid tribute to him, as a murder investigation remains ongoing.

Khadeem Parris, who was from Motherwell, near Glasgow in Scotland, died as a result of a stab wound. This was following an incident at an address on Adnitt Road, Abington, Northampton, on Tuesday evening (July 7).

A murder investigation remains underway. Khadeem’s family have now paid tribute to the 16-year-old, who was “ready and excited” to be starting college in August.

They said: “Khadeem was such a funny, smiling boy. He was always singing, he loved a joke, and he was such a kind son – he had a kindness inside of him. He had such strength too.

“He had coped with such a lot in his young life and he was making plans and so looking forward to the future. He was ready and excited to be starting college in August to study to be a plumber and electrician, and really wanted to make the most of the opportunities open to him.”

Khadeem also loved computer games and his PlayStation, with football being another one of his passions. The tribute continued: “Khadeem was an amazing brother to his older brother and younger sister, enjoying play fights and spending time playing computer games together.

“They had fun together and a special handshake marked their friendship and closeness. Words can’t explain how we feel at this time.

“We cannot understand it and we are utterly heartbroken at his loss. Khadeem, we love you, we miss you and you will always be in our hearts.”

On Friday, officers from Northamptonshire Police executed warrants on three properties in the Weedon Road area of Northampton as part of their murder investigation. The warrants didn’t result in any arrests, however, a 21-year-old man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder.

He remains in police custody.A 19-year-old man, a 56-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and have been released on bail, pending further inquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Ryan Catling said: “Our investigation is continuing at pace and we are following a number of lines of inquiry. However, we would still like to speak to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation.

“Any small piece of information or camera footage is useful and could be the vital detail we need as part of our enquiry. If you have anything you think could assist us, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
