{"id":1023,"date":"2026-05-06T14:50:45","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T14:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/blake-lively-justin-baldonis-legal-battle-isnt-over-just-yet-despite-settlement\/"},"modified":"2026-05-06T14:50:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T14:50:45","slug":"blake-lively-justin-baldonis-legal-battle-isnt-over-just-yet-despite-settlement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/blake-lively-justin-baldonis-legal-battle-isnt-over-just-yet-despite-settlement\/","title":{"rendered":"Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni&#8217;s legal battle isn&#8217;t over just yet despite settlement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/127119094.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni\u2019s ugly legal battle isn\u2019t over just yet, as the actress still has a\u00a0pending motion\u00a0connected to her \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d co-star\u2019s dismissed lawsuit against her.<\/p>\n<p>Although the pair <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/04\/celebrity-news\/blake-lively-and-justin-baldoni-reach-shocking-agreement-in-it-ends-with-us-battle-before-trial\/\">reached a surprising settlement<\/a> in Lively\u2019s complaint against Baldoni on Monday, the \u201cGossip Girl\u201d alum is still seeking attorneys\u2019 fees and damages from the director\u2019s failed lawsuit, <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/news\/blake-lively-settlement-no-money-justin-baldoni-1236738819\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/01\/16\/celebrity-news\/justin-baldoni-drags-taylor-swift-into-it-ends-with-us-legal-battle-as-he-sues-blake-lively-ryan-reynolds-for-400m\/\">filed a $400 million countersuit<\/a> against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation, extortion and more in January 2025 \u2013 one month after the 38-year-old actress <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/12\/31\/celebrity-news\/blake-lively-sues-justin-baldoni-over-it-ends-with-us-feud\/\">filed her lawsuit<\/a> alleging sexual harassment, retaliation and a smear campaign.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Blake Lively (pictured here at the Met Gala Monday night) is reportedly still seeking attorneys\u2019 fees and damages from Justin Baldoni\u2019s dismissed countersuit against her. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Baldoni (seen here arriving at court) filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively in January 2025. <span class=\"credit\">William Farrington for NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Lively\u2019s team filed a motion to dismiss the 42-year-old director\u2019s countersuit and requested attorneys\u2019 fees and damages under a California law\u00a0called the Protecting Survivors from Weaponized Defamation Lawsuits Act, which was created in 2023 to protect sexual abuse accusers from retaliatory claims.<\/p>\n<p>While the judge <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/06\/09\/celebrity-news\/judge-tosses-justin-baldonis-400m-lawsuit-against-blake-lively-ryan-reynolds\/\">dismissed Baldoni\u2019s countersuit<\/a> in June 2025, he didn\u2019t rule on whether the 2023 law applied. <\/p>\n<p>The judge also denied Lively\u2019s claim for attorney\u2019s fees and damages under the act, but allowed her to renew the motion, which she did in September 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Baldoni\u2019s team then opposed the motion in October 2025, arguing that Lively\u2019s motion violated Baldoni\u2019s constitutional right to petition the courts.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The actress (pictured here leaving court in February) requested attorneys\u2019 fees and damages under a California law created to protect sexual abuse accusers from retaliatory claims. <span class=\"credit\">Gregory P. occurred in New York and New Jersey, where \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d was predominantly filmed.<\/p>\n<p>A judge has yet to rule on the pending motion, per Variety, and the \u201cA Simple Favor\u201d countersuit comes after the pair settled Lively\u2019s December 2024 lawsuit on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The case was set to go to trial on May 18, and the settlement came just weeks after a judge\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/02\/celebrity-news\/blake-lively-dealt-devastating-blow-in-ongoing-justin-baldoni-harassment-lawsuit\/\">threw out 10 of 13 of Lively\u2019s claims<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRaising awareness, and\u00a0making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors \u2014 and all survivors \u2014 is a goal that we stand
