I think I said I wasn\u2019t feeling so hot, that he was an interesting guy, but I wasn\u2019t feeling peppy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When she eventually gave Turner a chance, she grew to love the \u201cvery funny, lovable, complicated person\u201d who could \u201ckeep up with\u201d her.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Before that, she \u201cKlute\u201d star wrote of Turner in her <a data-aps-asc-tag=\"pagesix-20\" data-aps-asin=\"0812975766\" data-wrapped-template=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url\" sink to the floor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple, who each had children from previous relationships, <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2016\/07\/18\/jane-fonda-to-auction-off-dress-from-ted-turner-nuptials\/\">tied the knot in January 1991<\/a> at Turner\u2019s 8,100-acre plantation, Avalon, in Capps, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Fonda found out Turner had been unfaithful a month into their marriage, she alleged in her book \u2014 but they stayed together until separating in January 2000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we continue to be committed to the long-term success of our marriage,\u201d they wrote in a joint statement, \u201cwe find ourselves at a juncture where we must each take some personal time for the following year but remained on good terms.<\/p>\n<p>While neither went on to wed again, Fonda <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2017\/01\/24\/jane-fonda-and-richard-perry-call-it-quits-after-8-years\/\">dated music producer Richard Perry<\/a> from 2009 to 2017 \u2014 and Turner made headlines in 2012 for having four simultaneous girlfriends.<\/p>\n<p>Fonda teared up while speaking about him and the charity they founded in 1995, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power and Potential, in a November 2025 speech.<\/p>\n<p>The organization \u201cnever would have happened if it wasn\u2019t for Ted,\u201d she said at GCAPP\u2019s 30th annual EmPower Party and gala event last href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/01\/07\/business\/cnn-founder-ted-turner-hospitalized-after-bout-with-pneumonia\/\">spent time in a rehab center<\/a> over a bout of
