I\u2019m totally fine, but it was like, \u2018Oh, well, that\u2019s real,&#8217;\u201d the \u201cCheers\u201d alum revealed on his\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Atk9EqPqFZM?si=ysRItJ8DEYrKH9TJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cWhere Everybody Knows Your Name\u201d<\/a>\u00a0podcast on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it was humbling and, oh, mortality is \u2026 it\u2019s the real deal, you know. It\u2019s not just a rumor. Ted Danson doesn\u2019t get a free pass. Love his work, but\u2026,\u201d the Emmy winner, 78, quipped.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Ted Danson\u2019s revealed he recently experienced a \u201chealth scare\u201d that made him reevaluate his lifestyle. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Team Coco<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The \u201cCheers\u201d alum opened up about the \u201chumbling\u201d experience on Wednesday\u2019s episode of his \u201cWhere Everybody Knows Your Name.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Team Coco<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The \u201cGood Place\u201d actor also noted that he \u201chadn\u2019t f\u2013ked up in some way\u201d so the health scare came as a surprise to him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was very humbling and calming, and I\u2019m fine,\u201d he assured, without elaborating on what the health issue was. \u201cI think it was the best thing that could have happened to me, and I\u2019m doing some things differently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am meditating now twice a day with Mary,\u201d the \u201cMan on the Inside\u201d star said, referring to <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/21\/celebrity-news\/ted-danson-says-bill-clinton-grilled-him-about-his-intentions-with-mary-steenburgen-using-secret-service\/\">his longtime wife, Mary Steenburgen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cIt was very humbling and calming, and I\u2019m fine,\u201d Danson (pictured here at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards) assured, without elaborating on what the health issue was.  <span class=\"credit\">WWD via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cI think it was the best thing that could have happened to me, and I\u2019m doing some things differently,\u201d Danson (seen here at the Golden Gala in 2025) said. <span class=\"credit\">Penske Media via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Danson said he\u2019d always thought improving his lifestyle and prioritizing healthy habits but, after the scare, he is actually going to follow through with it now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s like, wow, I\u2019ve always talked about it and lied about it,\u201d he laughed about taking up meditation.<\/p>\n<p>Danson also revealed what his biggest takeaway from the health scare was and how he is using it as a learning lesson. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>One of those healthy changes, he shared, is meditating twice a day with his longtime wife, Mary Steenburgen (seen above with him in January). <span class=\"credit\">Kevin Mazur\/Getty Images for SiriusXM<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Danson admitted to putting off healthier habits for years, but after his latest scare he is going to follow through.
