Orchestrated. It feels hollow.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Following Justin Baldoni\u2019s legal settlement with Blake Lively, the filmmaker\u2019s pal spoke to Page Six exclusively about the actress\u2019s Met Gala appearance just hours later. <span class=\"credit\">Kevin Mazur\/Getty Images for The Met Museum\/Vogue<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cIf you could hear eyes roll,\u201d Adam Mondschein, seen here, said when asked about Lively attending the star-studded event following news of the settlement. <span class=\"credit\">FilmMagic<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Mondschein \u2014 who played OBGYN Dr. Dunbar in the <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/06\/celebrity-news\/blake-lively-justin-baldonis-legal-battle-isnt-over-just-yet-despite-settlement\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">controversial delivery-room scene<\/a> in \u201cIt Ends With Us\u201d \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/07\/celebrity-news\/it-ends-with-us-actor-adam-mondschein-calls-out-blake-lively-for-hurting-his-pal-justin-baldoni\/\">previously defended Baldoni<\/a>, 42, after Lively accused her co-star and director of sexual harassment and fostering a toxic work environment in a bombshell lawsuit filed in December 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The actor further <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/05\/celebrity-news\/viral-video-of-blake-lively-at-met-gala-2026-divides-internet-bossy-or-like-a-boss\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">compared Lively\u2019s Met Gala appearance<\/a> to elaborately wrapped holiday window displays that appear glamorous on the outside but are ultimately \u201cempty\u201d inside.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrowing up in New York City \u2026 I loved going to the city and seeing the Macy\u2019s Day window displays for Christmas,\u201d he explained. \u201cThe presents that they had there were so shiny and wrapped and it was awesome. And there\u2019s nothing in them.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Lively\u2019s Met Gala appearance \u201cfeels contrived. It feels very empty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, according to Mondschein, Baldoni <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/06\/celebrity-news\/justin-baldoni-ecstatic-after-settling-messy-legal-battle-with-blake-lively\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">spent the night of the Met Gala<\/a> privately with loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJustin was with his family and also I think he\u2019s getting over a cold,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The actor became emotional while discussing the toll the public fallout has allegedly taken on Baldoni.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Mondschein played OBGYN Dr. Dunbar in the controversial delivery-room scene in \u201cIt Ends With Us.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Sony Pictures<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Mondschein previously defended Baldoni, seen on set with the actress, after Lively accused her co-star and director of sexual harassment and fostering a toxic work environment in a lawsuit filed in late 2024. <span class=\"credit\">GC Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a real person,\u201d Mondschein said. \u201cHe\u2019s out here experiencing all of this chaos like a human person would. He\u2019s the real deal,\u201d he continued. \u201cThat\u2019s hard for people because it can come across cheesy at worst, but it\u2019s hard in this industry for people to believe that someone has integrity, that someone really does care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mondschein went on to praise Baldoni\u2019s past work, including his \u201cThe Man Enough\u201d podcast and his \u201cMy Last Days\u201d documentary series, which follows terminally ill people sharing their stories.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cHe\u2019s a real person,\u201d Mondschein said. \u201cHe\u2019s out here experiencing all of this chaos like a human person would.
