{"id":1581,"date":"2026-05-10T16:42:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-10T16:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/chilling-last-stand-clue-that-shows-nancy-guthrie-was-alive-when-abducted-retired-fbi-agent\/"},"modified":"2026-05-10T16:42:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T16:42:11","slug":"chilling-last-stand-clue-that-shows-nancy-guthrie-was-alive-when-abducted-retired-fbi-agent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/chilling-last-stand-clue-that-shows-nancy-guthrie-was-alive-when-abducted-retired-fbi-agent\/","title":{"rendered":"Chilling &#8216;last stand&#8217; clue that shows Nancy Guthrie was alive when abducted: retired FBI agent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/127404659.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft wp-block-nypost-editor-partner-article-links\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>TUCSON, Ariz. \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/03\/celebrity-news\/blood-found-in-savannah-guthries-missing-mom-nancys-home-report\/\">Blood spatter on Nancy Guthrie\u2019s front porch\u00a0<\/a>shows she was still alive when coerced out of her home by a lone abductor in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson, according to a retired FBI profiler \u2014 who also believes that the masked suspect made enough mistakes that he will be identified eventually.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also know at least that she was alive at that time,\u201d said Jim Clemente, who spent 22 years in the bureau.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s based on his analysis of <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/03\/celebrity-news\/new-video-shows-apparent-blood-trail-outside-savannah-guthries-moms-home\/\">blood on her front porch.<\/a> There was a concentration of round droplets near the front door, then a thinning trail toward her driveway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe must have aspirated and then coughed up blood with her face very close to the ground, and I don\u2019t believe that would have happened had two people been carrying her at that point,\u201d he told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p>Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of \u201cToday\u201d co-host\u00a0Savannah Guthrie, is <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/05\/celebrity-news\/cops-lay-out-exact-timeline-of-nancy-guthries-disappearance-confirm-blood-was-hers-in-day-5-presser\/\">believed to have been kidnapped from her home around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 1.<\/a> For days, there were few clues about who was responsible, until the<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/23\/celebrity-news\/nancy-guthrie-kidnapping-suspect-caught-on-doorbell-camera-before-her-abduction-report\/\"> FBI and Google recovered imagery from her Nest doorbell camera<\/a> that showed a masked man wearing gloves and a holstered pistol arrive on her front steps the night she vanished.<\/p>\n<p>He is described as above average height and build. He was wearing a black Ozark Trail backpack, long sleeves, gloves and a ski mask. He was sort of bumbling his way through this, and he made other mistakes, and I believe those mistakes will directly lead to his capture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While investigators have kept details about the inside of the home close, some have leaked, and they paint a story, Clemente said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that what it means is he threatened her with his gun when he was at her bedside,\u201d he told Fox News Digital. \u201cHe got her to come down, and at the front door is where she realized he\u2019s going to take me and this is very dangerous and I should fight. And she did.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Guthrie\u2019s doorbell camera was removed from the door. <span class=\"credit\">Andy Johnstone for NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The doorbell video does not show Guthrie being taken from her home, although there was blood clearly visible on her stone walkway. The camera itself was missing when deputies arrived the next morning. However, the fact that the FBI was able to recover video anyway likely shocked the kidnapper, Clemente said, and someone in his orbit should have been able to pick up the signs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of all the mistakes this guy made, because of his ineptness and non-professional behavior in this, I believe that he exhibited a great degree of stress when the images were first released,\u201d Clemente said. \u201cAnybody around him should have noticed that change in behavior and potentially be able to identify him because of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>There is a combined $1.2 million reward for information that can solve the Guthrie case. <span class=\"credit\">savannahguthrie\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There was also an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/16\/celebrity-news\/fbi-analyzing-potentially-critical-dna-recovered-from-nancy-guthries-arizona-home-report\/\">unidentified hair sample recovered\u00a0from the home<\/a>. The sheriff\u2019s department initially sent it to a private lab in Florida.
