Even Dolly sometimes, we\u2019d go to the market, we\u2019d play games, we\u2019d all get together at somebody\u2019s house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She went on to say that in her office, she has a photo of herself with Parton, MacLaine and Roberts at the wrap party. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a big band, so it\u2019s all of our tight headshots, and on my chest is my little son Sam,\u201d she explained, referring to her 38-year-old son, whom she shares with ex-husband Alan Greisman. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was 6 months old, I\u2019m holding his head because I\u2019m trying to save his ears because it was loud. He was on the set all the time and my friends took care of him. Sam specifically is a writer and producer. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tv\/sally-field-son-recalls-how-coming-out-inspired-brothers-and-sisters-storyline\/?_gl=1*1azq51v*_ga*NDM0NzYzNTE5LjE3NjY1OTg5Mjg.*_ga_DK3GDWHWJH*czE3Nzg0OTcwOTQkbzQ1JGcxJHQxNzc4NTAwMDM1JGo1OSRsMCRoMA..\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In a 2023 essay published on People<\/a>, Sam gushed about his connection with his mom, calling himself a \u201cmomma\u2019s boy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_58-0\">Explaining why he was \u201cperhaps too obsessed with her,\u201d he said, \u201cMaybe it\u2019s because I\u2019m the youngest, by sixteen years. Who knows! Whatever it is, we have always been incredibly close.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sam noted that he was \u201cso connected\u201d to his mom that he could trace his life through her career. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile she shot\u00a0\u2018Mrs. Doubtfire,\u2019 I built model airplanes and hung them all over our rented house in San Francisco. During\u00a0\u2018Forrest Gump,\u2019 I would get to buy something at the toy store in Beaufort, S.C.,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLater, a frank, heartfelt conversation about my queerness was used verbatim for a scene between her and Matthew Rhys. Each very different from the other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_29-0\">Addressing Sam in particular, Field added, \u201cSam was given colors and innate perceptions that his big brothers just simply don\u2019t have. He\u2019s a gentler nature, and it is a gift. <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_29-0\">\u201cNature made Sam, it wasn\u2019t a choice.
