This doesn\u2019t deserve any further response,\u201d Vrabel told us in a statement at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Russini added in her own statement, \u201cThe photos don\u2019t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day. Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The photo scandal led to the journalist <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/14\/entertainment\/nfl-reporter-dianna-russini-resigns-from-the-athletic-after-photos-with-mike-vrabel\/\">stepping down from her role<\/a> as Senior NFL Insider at the Athletic, while Vrabel announced he\u2019d be skipping Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft to <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/23\/celebrity-news\/mike-vrabel-seeking-counseling-after-dianna-russini-photo-drama\/\">\u201cseek counseling.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The duo\u2019s sighting comes after Page Six published photos of Russini and Vrabel at a resort in Arizona together. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9 Page Six<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>In the pics (snapped in March), the former ESPN reporter and the New England Patriots head coach were seen hugging and dancing. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9 Page SIx<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>They were also spotted lounging in the luxe resort\u2019s hot tub. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9 Page SIx<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>They claimed they were with friends, but were only ever photographed alone.   <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9 Page SIx<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>An insider said that Russini and Vrabel \u201cwere kissing\u201d and \u201call over each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, photos of Russini and Vrabel <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/07\/celebrity-news\/mike-vrabel-and-pregnant-dianna-russini-seen-in-new-video-during-2021-boat-outing\/\">spending time on a private boat trip<\/a> in Putnam County, Tennessee, back in 2021 surfaced last week.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, the sports reporter was visibly pregnant with her first child.<\/p>\n<p>A source told TMZ that Russini and Vrabel were allegedly the only two people on the boat, and that they <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/07\/celebrity-news\/mike-vrabel-pregnant-dianna-russini-were-cautious-about-photos-being-taken-while-renting-private-boat-together\/\">were hesitant about photos being taken<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Later on, pics of Vrabel and Russini cozying up at a New York City bar in March 2020 were released. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9 Page Six<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cThey were kissing and they were all over each other,\u201d an eyewitness told Page Six. \u201cHe had a ring on.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9 Page Six<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Russini and Goldschmidt, pictured on their wedding day in Sept. 2020, were married six months later. <span class=\"credit\">Dianna Russini\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Amid the scandal, Vrabel has continued to serve as the Patriots\u2019 head coach. The NFL team released the following statement back in April:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe New England Patriots fully support Mike Vrabel\u2019s decision to prioritize his family first, as well as his own well-being. Mike has been open with us about his commitment to being the best version of himself for his family, this team and our fans, and we respect the steps he is taking to follow through on that commitment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Vrabel has received support from several team members, including Christian Gonzalez.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s my coach,\u201d the cornerback <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/03\/celebrity-news\/patriots-star-christian-gonzalez-addresses-coach-mike-vrabel-and-dianna-russinis-photo-scandal\/\">told reporters<\/a> during a press conference earlier this month. \u201cThat\u2019s who I go out and play for, and he\u2019s proven what he can do as a coach.
