The famed string instruments are made out of Brazilian rosewood, which is one of the most rare and endangered trees on the planet. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Paul McCartney\u2019s prized guitars have been stuck in customs in London for over a month.  <span class=\"credit\">WireImage<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Seven of McCartney\u2019s guitars have been stuck in customs due to CITES.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cThe tree is endangered so you can no longer use it, but it\u2019s the best wood you can use for sound and acoustics,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>The guitars are a part of McCartney\u2019s personal archive. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the first major museum exhibition that will explore the story of McCartney and Wings, with the Rock Hall calling them \u201ca defining force in 1970s rock that bridged the gap between the end of The Beatles and the rise of a new era in popular music.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>A new exhibit on Paul McCartney and the Wings is opening at the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The former Beatle is slated as the musical guest for the season finale of \u201cSNL\u201d on Saturday.  <span class=\"credit\">Todd Owyoung\/NBC via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We\u2019re told it\u2019s the first time in decades that McCartney has traveled with the guitars internationally, so he may have been unaware his highly prized instruments would have an issue. <\/p>\n<p>However, a source says there has been some movement in getting the guitars through customs, so they may make it to the museum for the opening in four days.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, McCartney is set to appear as <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/video\/matt-damon-destroys-on-snl-as-brett-kavanaugh-aziz-ansari-returns\/\">the musical act for the season finale of \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d <\/a>on Saturday.
