But when I posted it, I was like, \u2018Maybe there is a possibility.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Olson added that he \u201csaw some comments\u201d that made him rethink whether joining \u201cDWTS\u201d was plausible.<\/p>\n<p>The athlete\u2019s girlfriend, Maggie, took to her Instagram Stories after the news was announced with a series of supportive messages.<\/p>\n<p>The TV personality re-posted the official announcement, writing, \u201cSO PROUD.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>While on \u201cGood Morning America\u201d Wednesday, Olson (pictured here on the talk show) said he \u201cmanifested\u201d competing on the series. <span class=\"credit\">GMA<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>His girlfriend, Maggie Sajak \u2014 the daughter of former \u201cWheel of Fortune\u201d host Pat Sajak \u2014 shared her support on Instagram, gushing over how proud she is of her partner (as pictured here). <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/maggiesajak<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A second shot showed the pair from behind watching fireworks, with the caption, \u201cBeyond proud of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maggie warned that \u201cthe dance floor better get ready.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exciting news comes only a month after\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/22\/celebrity-news\/pat-sajaks-daughter-maggie-dating-savannah-bananas-star-player-jackson-olson\/\">the couple announced their romance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApplications closed\u2705,\u201d Olson captioned their joint Instagram post at the time, referencing his relationship status.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\">Meanwhile, come fall, Olson is set to join \u201cSummer House \u201cstar Ciara Miller\u00a0and \u201cTraitors\u201d\u00a0runner-up\u00a0Maura Higgins in the ballroom.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Olson\u2019s big announcement comes a month after he and Maggie went IG official (as pictured here in April). <span class=\"credit\">jacksonolson_\/instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The social media star wrote in a joint caption: \u201cApplications closed\u2705.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">jacksonolson_\/instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\">The full cast will be revealed on \u201cGood Morning America\u201d on Sept. 2.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\">Olson, however, has plenty of dance experience on the baseball field. <\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Savannah Bananas \u2014 which was founded in 2016 by husband and wife Jesse and Emily Cole \u2014 mixes baseball with choreographed dances, sing-alongs and players on stilts.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\">Olson joined the Georgia-based team in 2022, after previously turning down an offer from the Arizona Diamondbacks a few years prior. <\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\">After the\u00a0MLB\u2019s draft was shortened during the COVID-19 pandemic, the baseball player\u00a0transferred\u00a0from the University of Hartford to Stetson University.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Olson joined the Savannah Bananas in 2022 and now has over 2 million TikTok followers. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/dancingwiththestars<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The Georgia-based team was founded in 2016 and combines baseball with choreographed dances among other entertaining performances.  <span class=\"credit\">Jackson Olson\/ instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Olson quickly gained an online following by showing off his dance moves and baseball skills on TikTok. <\/p>\n<p>Olson\u2019s videos earned him a spot on the Savannah Bananas and he has since amassed over 2 million followers on the social media platform.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\">\u201cI thought I was done with baseball after my career at Stetson University,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/savannah-bananas-baseball-couple-who-risked-everything-exclusive-7563579\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the influencer told People in 2023<\/a>. \u201cMentally, I kind of fell out of love with the game.
