{"id":2203,"date":"2026-05-14T22:47:16","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T22:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/judge-rules-defamation-case-againt-rebel-wilson-can-move-forward\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T22:47:16","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T22:47:16","slug":"judge-rules-defamation-case-againt-rebel-wilson-can-move-forward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/judge-rules-defamation-case-againt-rebel-wilson-can-move-forward\/","title":{"rendered":"Judge rules defamation case againt Rebel Wilson can move forward"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/127785197.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Rebel Wilson is going to have to prove in court that she wasn\u2019t making up the appalling allegations she made against producers on her film \u201cThe Deb,\u201d a judge ruled on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cPitch Perfect\u201d star had claimed on social media that the movie\u2019s co-producer <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/20\/celebrity-news\/rebel-wilson-slammed-as-a-bully-in-defamation-court-battle\/\">Amanda Ghost had sexually assaulted its star, Charlotte MacIness,<\/a> and that her fellow execs Gregor Cameron and Vince Holden had \u201cembezzled funds from the film\u2019s budget.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wilson<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/18\/society\/rebel-wilson-only-making-things-worse-in-complex-bitter-lawsuits-over-the-deb-source\/\"> tried to get their suit thrown out<\/a> earlier this year, but a court sided with Ghost, Cameron and Holden and let it stand. That cynical legal gamble has spectacularly backfired, as the Court of Appeal concluded that the producers have a \u2018probability of prevailing\u2019 on their defamation claim against Wilson.
