\n<\/aside>\nCarly Pearce\u00a0is opening up about the moment she knew her marriage was over, pretty quickly after saying, \u201cI do.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a new interview on \u201cThe Person Who Believed In Me\u201d podcast, the 36-year-old country singer shared that she knew on her wedding night that getting married was the wrong choice, saying \u201che made it very clear that I made a very big mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a bit of Jekyll and Hyde\u2026that I did not see until it was too late,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd that\u2019s something I\u2019m grateful for my very short marriage, because it taught me a lot about myself. It also gave me the album \u201929.’\u201d<\/p>\n
When pressed further, Pearce said that the marriage and divorce \u201ctaught me just how strong I am\u201d in that she very quickly realized, \u201cthis was not what I deserved,\u201d and did something about it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI blew up my life to get out of it,\u201d she said. \u201cI didn\u2019t stay because society tells you \u2018you should.\u2019 I didn\u2019t stay because my faith says divorce is bad. I didn\u2019t stay because \u2018oh, it\u2019s public. I need to do that.\u2019 I was done.\u201d<\/p>\nCarly Pearce shared that she knew on her wedding night that getting married was the wrong choice, saying \u201che made it very clear that I made a very big mistake.\u201d The Person Who Believed In Me \/ YouTube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe \u201cDear Miss Loretta\u201d singer was\u00a0married to country singer Michael Ray\u00a0from October 2019 until June 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The relationship and divorce ended up being the inspiration behind her third album, \u201c29,\u201d which featured songs such as \u201cWhat He Didn\u2019t Do\u201d and \u201cNext Girl.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pearce explained that while she doesn\u2019t see herself as a \u201cgood communicator,\u201d she finds she can better express herself through writing songs, saying, \u201cI need to write it out to process it.\u201d This led her to write \u201csix really intense songs\u201d about divorce, which she thought would be too much for the album.<\/p>\nPearce said that the marriage and divorce \u201ctaught me just how strong I am\u201d in that she very quickly realized, \u201cthis was not what I deserved,\u201d and did something about it. carlypearce\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cI thought it was just my story, but I think what I\u2019ve learned is it was a lot of different people\u2019s story,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She ended up winning a\u00a0Grammy Award\u00a0for best country duo\/group performance for the song, \u201cNever Wanted to be That Girl,\u201d from the album, which features Ashley McBryde.<\/p>\n
In 2025, Pearce confirmed she was in a relationship with entrepreneur, Jordan Karcher, with a cozy selfie on Instagram.<\/p>\nPearce performs onstage during the 2026 iHeartCountry Festival presented by Capital One at the Moody Center on May 2, 2026 in Austin, Texas. \u201cI just didn\u2019t think you could meet a real person on Raya,\u201d she said. \u201cI just felt like how am I going to be able to, like, meet somebody that\u2019s aligned with me? He\u2019s not in any kind of entertainment, which is the best thing ever. I\u2019m just really happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pearce recently\u00a0urged her followers to go\u00a0get checked by doctors when health issues arise after experiencing a medical nightmare when her pericarditis was initially misdiagnosed.<\/p>\n
She recalled feeling dismissed by doctors and encouraged her followers to be persistent when it comes to their health.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2018Oh, you have anxiety. Oh, you have a busy schedule,’\u201d Pearce recalled being told. \u201cAnd it\u2019s like, \u2018No, something\u2019s not right.\u2019 And, so, in 2024, I went public with that just because it took me out for a second. But I\u2019m doing really well. And I haven\u2019t had any kind of major flair. But I think, again, just trying to be honest with people and use my platform to be like, \u2018Please go get checked because there was something wrong.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
