My life\u2019s mission is to be an example for my children and my family,\u201d Hawn, who turned 80 in November, told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/goldie-hawn-talks-love-family-finding-joy-every-day-cover-story-exclusive-11959174\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">People<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you get older, things can get harder. Your state of mind matters. How you look at life matters, how you value moments in your life matters, because you\u2019re feeding your own brain. I don\u2019t feel penned in,\u201d said Hawn, saying she and Russell are the \u201cright match.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t always agree on stuff, which is fine. We\u2019re both very spontaneous. Hawn and Russell, who started dating in 1983, later welcomed son Wyatt Russell.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, during an appearance on SiriusXM\u2019s \u201cConan O\u2019Brien Needs a Friend,\u201d the\u00a0Academy Award-winning actress\u00a0opened up about <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/09\/entertainment\/kurt-russell-says-the-madison-love-story-hit-me-really-hard-because-of-his-romance-with-goldie-hawn\/\">her and Russell\u2019s joint love for their family<\/a> and explained why it\u2019s the \u201csticking glue\u201d to their relationship.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t agree on everything,\u201d Hawn said in a clip shared with People. \u201cHis politics are different than mine. You know, there\u2019s all these things that could divide you. It wasn\u2019t just because he was\u00a0sexy and handsome\u00a0and all of those things you get turned on by; it was because he matched my devotion to children to be No. 1. They are the center of our family,\u201d Hudson told SiriusXM\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sxm.app.link\/PRlink-Howard100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cThe Howard Stern Show\u201d in 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think from the outside it looks a certain way, but inside, our family is just nuts, in the best way. Everybody\u2019s so different, but everyone wants to enjoy their life.
