I was able to keep that to myself \u2026 Not like the first time,\u201d the pop star, 57, shared in her new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/82075657\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">self-titled Netflix documentary<\/a>, which was released Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThankfully, I got through it. Again. And all is well. Hey, who knows what\u2019s around the corner, but pop music nurtures me \u2026 my passion for music is greater than ever.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kylie Minogue revealed she privately went through a second cancer battle in 2021 in her self-titled Netflix documentary (pictured above), which was released Tuesday.  <span class=\"credit\">Netflix<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cThankfully, I got through it. And I really just wanted to say what happened so I can let go of it. I\u2019d sit through interviews and every opportunity I thought, \u2018now\u2019s the time\u2019, but I kept it to myself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though, she did make reference to the \u201csecret\u201d battle she took on behind closed doors in her 2023 song \u201cStory,\u201d which is featured on her album \u201cTension.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a secret that I kept to myself \u2026 Turn another page, baby take the stage,\u201d reads some of the song lyrics. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>After going through her treatments, Minogue (pictured above performing at the O2 Arena in May 2025) said she struggled to find \u201cthe right time\u201d to publicly share her diagnosis.   <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Minogue (seen here performing at the 2024 People\u2019s Choice Awards) first battled cancer at age 36 in 2005. <span class=\"credit\">NBC via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In her documentary, Minogue explained she shared the private piece of her life on the song because she \u201cneeded to have something that marked that time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Minogue was 36 years old when she received her first breast cancer diagnosis.
