So there\u2019s no AC, there\u2019s no plumbing, there isn\u2019t anything. But it is breakthtakingly glorious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt took a while [to get used to] because they built that cabin. It was all a little bit rushed for everyone and so there weren\u2019t certain accommodations set up,\u201d she later said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Michelle Pfeiffer revealed the brutal reality of filming Taylor Sheridan\u2019s \u201cThe Madison\u201d in Montana and Texas. <span class=\"credit\">LA Times Studios<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t really have trailers there because they were shooting 360 [degrees]. So, they couldn\u2019t have a bunch of trailers around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was really no place for us to sit,\u201d she continued. \u201cThere was no bathroom nearby. There was no food. And in the winter, it was cold. It was like, \u2018Could we have a heater?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd in the summer, it was like, \u2018Could I get an umbrella because the sun\u2019s really intense?\u2019 It took us about halfway through to figure all of that out.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The 67-year-old actress said she endured sets with no bathrooms, AC, plumbing or trailers. <span class=\"credit\">Emerson Miller\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Pfeiffer\u2019s character Stacy is the matriarch of a wealthy\u00a0New York City\u00a0family who makes a life-changing decision after suffering a devastating tragedy in the first episode.<\/p>\n<p>Following their loss, Stacy and her family leave Manhattan behind for the rural\u00a0Madison River Valley region of Montana\u00a0in an effort to recover.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-madison-michelle-pfeiffer-kurt-russell-casting-interview-1236542562\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hollywood Reporter<\/a>\u00a0in March, Pfeiffer explained that <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/08\/08\/entertainment\/michelle-pfeiffer-to-lead-yellowstone-series-madison\/\">taking on the project<\/a> was a \u201cbig leap of faith\u201d for her since [creator Taylor Sheridan] did not have a script for the series as he wanted to cast first and write later.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn and Kurt Russell as Preston Clyburn in the Paramount+ series \u201cThe Madison.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Chris Saunders\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201c[Taylor] wanted to know who Stacy was before he started writing. I wanted to know who Stacy is before I committed. And so we went back and forth like that for a little while, and it became clear to me I wasn\u2019t going to win this battle,\u201d Pfeiffer said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I asked Helen Mirren [who previously starred in Sheridan\u2019s \u201cYellowstone\u201d\u00a0spin-off \u201c1923\u201d] to speak to me about her experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pfeiffer said she consulted Mirren because she had to \u201cknow something concrete about this guy, this project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd she just glowed; she couldn\u2019t say enough nice things,\u201d Pfeiffer recalled of Mirren. \u201cShe said the scripts were great, the productions were perfect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was having the time of her life; she loved Montana. So I took a big leap of faith, and I committed.
