{"id":2886,"date":"2026-05-20T19:16:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T19:16:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/matthew-perrys-prized-friends-possessions-to-be-auctioned-after-actors-death\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T19:16:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T19:16:05","slug":"matthew-perrys-prized-friends-possessions-to-be-auctioned-after-actors-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/matthew-perrys-prized-friends-possessions-to-be-auctioned-after-actors-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Matthew Perry&#8217;s prized &#8216;Friends&#8217; possessions to be auctioned after actor&#8217;s death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/128317546.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Some of Matthew Perry\u2019s prized possessions will be auctioned nearly three years after the actor\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/10\/28\/entertainment\/matthew-perry-dead-at-54-from-apparent-drowning-report\/\">tragic death<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bids are currently being placed for several of Perry\u2019s personal items, including the pilot and final episode scripts of \u201cFriends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The front page of the sitcom\u2019s pilot episode script from 1994 was signed by Perry\u2019s \u201cFriends\u201d co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.<\/p>\n<p>The same actors signed the front page of Perry\u2019s final episode script in 2004.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Matthew Perry\u2019s prized possessions are being auctioned. (Pictured: Perry in \u201cFriends\u201d promo.) <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Warner Bros\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Heritage Auctions is selling a copy of Perry\u2019s pilot script from 1994 (as seen next to his Screen Actors Guild Award). <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Perry\u2019s estate is also auctioning off a 2005 Banksy painting of the \u201cGirl with Balloon,\u201d which is estimated to be worth $800,000, as well as another painting titled \u201cNola (Grey Rain)\u201d from the same artist that is valued at more than $40,000.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Perry\u2019s clothing, his personal guitars, jewelry, and his VHS and DVD collections of \u201cFriends,\u201d as well as other belongings, are all being auctioned.<\/p>\n<p>The items are being sold by\u00a0Heritage Auctions and the proceeds will go towards the Matthew Perry Foundation, which was established to combat the stigma surrounding substance use disorder.<\/p>\n<p>Perry was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/celebrity-news\/celebrity-deaths-2026-actors-singers-and-stars-we-lost-this-year\/\">found dead<\/a>\u00a0in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28, 2023. (Pictured: Perry\u2019s watch.) <span class=\"credit\">AFP via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A coroner later announced that the \u201c17 Again\u201d star\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/12\/15\/celebrity-news\/matthew-perrys-official-cause-of-death-revealed\/\">died from \u201cacute effects of ketamine.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the ketamine, the coroner listed drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects as other conditions that contributed to his death.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, federal prosecutors <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/08\/15\/entertainment\/5-people-charged-in-connection-to-matthew-perrys-death-from-ketamine\/\">charged five people<\/a> with conspiracy and distribution of ketamine, causing Perry\u2019s death. <\/p>\n<p>Three of the defendants \u2014 Perry\u2019s live-in assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa; drug counselor Erik Fleming; and Dr. Mark Chavez \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/10\/02\/celebrity-news\/doctor-who-helped-supply-matthew-perry-ketamine-pleads-guilty-to-drug-charge\/\">agreed to plead guilty<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Perry (seen above at a hockey game in April 2023) was found dead in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28, 2023.
