If he saw a rainbow \u2014 one of Matthew\u2019s favorite things \u2014 he would call me,\u201d she penned.<\/p>\n<p>Suzanne insisted that her and her family \u201ctrusted a man without a conscience,\u201d so Matthew \u201cpaid the price.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had known Kenny, and so had we, for 25 years,\u201d she detailed. \u201cMathew trusted Kenny. We trusted Kenny. Kenny\u2019s most important job \u2013 by far \u2013 was to be my son\u2019s companion and guardian in his fight against addiction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As far as the \u201cFriends\u201d star\u2019s loved ones are concerned, Iwamasa\u2019s biggest responsibility was ensuring that Matthew stayed \u201cdrug free.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cHe clung to me and the family as if he was somehow the good guy who tried to save Matthew,\u201d the heartbroken mom said about Iwamasa (pictured here in 2023). <span class=\"credit\">BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Suzanne insisted that her family \u201ctrusted a man without a conscience,\u201d so Matthew (pictured here in 2015) \u201cpaid the price.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Brian Ach\/Invision\/AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cKenny knew, should he feel unduly pressured, that with one phone call to any number of the people in Matthew\u2019s orbit, reinforcements would be on the way, and his job would be safe,\u201d Suzanne revealed.<\/p>\n<p>But instead of protecting Matthew, \u201che aided and abetted\u201d his addiction.<\/p>\n<p>Suzanne claimed Iwamasa \u201carranged for one source of supply, then another. Shot the drugs into Matthew\u2019s body, though he was not in the least qualified.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>She also recalled the circumstances surrounding her son\u2019s tragic passing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was, in spite of all we went through, my heart and soul. Impossible, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Suzanne recalled visiting Matthew the next day in a mortuary, noting he \u201clooked almost beautiful and somehow relieved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The heartbroken mother concluded her letter, stating, \u201cNothing takes this pain away, nor will it, I am sure, for as long as a live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Suzanne shared Matthew with ex-husband John Bennett Perry. After remarrying Keith Morrison in 1981, she welcomed children Caitlin, Emily, Will and Madeline.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew \u2014 who openly struggled with drug addiction for decades \u2014 was\u00a0found dead\u00a0in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28, 2023, at age 54.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The \u201c17 Again\u201d actor (pictured here in 2023) was found deceased in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28, 2023.
