She was an older lady. I remember she was a chain smoker.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was the \u201880s,\u201d Bush Hager reassured the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Jones, 48, then pretended to smoke a cigarette, while mimicking a gravelly voice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Sheinelle Jones accidentally name-dropped her chain-smoking childhood babysitter Thursday while live on \u201cToday\u201d (as pictured here). <span class=\"credit\">NBC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The NBC star (pictured here in 2023) detailed that her babysitter \u201cwas an older lady. That, and we would watch\u00a0\u2018Grease.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_17-0\">\u201cDid you like her?\u201d Bush Hager, 44, inquired, to which Jones said she \u201cloved her\u201d before unintentionally saying her name.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_19-0\">The anchor quickly cover her mouth, asking, \u201cCan we take that out? Oh shoot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\">Bush Hager tried to comfort Jones, saying that back then \u201ceverybody smoked. It was OK!\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The journalist (pictured here as a child with her mom, Sheila) added that she \u201cloved\u201d her babysitter before mistakenly saying her name. She quickly covered her mouth and asked, \u201cCan we take that out? Oh shoot!\u201d <span class=\"credit\">sheinelle_o\/instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Jones (pictured here with her mom, Sheila, during childhood) grew up one of five sibling in Wichita, Kansas. <span class=\"credit\">sheinelle_o\/instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\">Jones insisted that, despite her sitter\u2019s habit, she enjoyed their time together.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\">\u201cWe would watch\u00a0\u2018Grease\u2019\u00a0and she would make me sandwiches and she had Betty Boop everywhere,\u201d Jones reiterated.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\">She added with a laugh, \u201cLet\u2019s get back on topic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jones grew up in Wichita, Kansas, with her parents C. She\u2019s the one I can call about anything, and she\u2019s the one who told me to put Clara in musical theater.
