{"id":3108,"date":"2026-05-22T08:57:33","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T08:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/supergirl-actress-milly-alcock-mocks-critics-says-a-lot-of-them-are-christian-dads\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T08:57:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T08:57:33","slug":"supergirl-actress-milly-alcock-mocks-critics-says-a-lot-of-them-are-christian-dads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/supergirl-actress-milly-alcock-mocks-critics-says-a-lot-of-them-are-christian-dads\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Supergirl&#8217; actress Milly Alcock mocks critics, says a lot of them are Christian dads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/128470609.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft wp-block-nypost-editor-partner-article-links\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>New <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/01\/entertainment\/new-supergirl-star-braces-for-backlash-believing-women-face-scrutiny-for-simply-existing-in-franchises\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018Supergirl\u2019 star Milly Alcock<\/a>\u00a0pushed back against online critics ahead of the film\u2019s release, saying many of the people criticizing her past comments are anonymous \u201cburner accounts\u201d and profiles identifying themselves as \u201cDad of four, Christian\u201d accounts.<\/p>\n<p>In a new interview\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/features\/milly-alcock-supergirl-interview-sexism-superheroes-1236753786\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">with Variety<\/a>, Alcock discussed the backlash surrounding <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/02\/28\/hollywood\/vince-vaughn-supergirl-star-milly-alcock-among-presenters-and-honorees-at-gday-usa-arts-gala\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">her rise to the lead role in DC Studios\u2019 upcoming \u201cSupergirl\u201d movie <\/a>and said she has learned to tune out\u00a0online outrage\u00a0as scrutiny around blockbuster franchises intensifies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I mean, whose opinion do you really care about?\u201d Alcock said. \u201cIf you\u2019re p\u2014ing the right kind of people off, you\u2019re doing OK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actress suggested much of the hostility directed toward her comes from faceless social media users reacting emotionally online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s from a lot of people whose profiles have no photo, who are burner accounts,\u201d Alcock said. \u201cOr someone\u2019s name and then \u2018Dad of four, Christian,\u2019 which is hilarious to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cSupergirl\u201d star Milly Alcock fired back at online critics ahead of the film\u2019s release, dismissing them as anonymous \u201cburner accounts\u201d and \u201cDad of four, Christian\u201d profiles. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for CinemaCon<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Alcock said she partly understands why people become emotionally invested in celebrities and fictional franchises, arguing that distrust in institutions has pushed some people toward\u00a0online communities\u00a0for direction and validation.<\/p>\n<p>Alcock noted that governments don\u2019t have \u201canyone\u2019s best interests at heart\u201d and people turn \u201cto online forums to find that guidance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just creates an unhealthy relationship with a person\u201d who will eventually disappoint, she said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The upcoming \u201cSupergirl\u201d lead admitted she was nervous about fan reaction but said audience response is ultimately out of her control. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Warner Bros\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The comments build on concerns <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/01\/11\/drunk-milly-alcocks-golden-globes-behavior-goes-viral\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alcock raised earlier this year <\/a>about the pressure female stars face in major entertainment franchises. In an earlier interview promoting \u201cSupergirl,\u201d the actress said\u00a0women in fan-heavy franchises\u00a0often face criticism simply for being cast in prominent roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on,\u201d Alcock previously said while discussing her experience starring in HBO\u2019s \u201cHouse of the Dragon\u201d and the upcoming DC film.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women\u2019s bodies,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Alcock described her version of \u201cSupergirl\u201d as more sarcastic and rebellious while discussing the new DC film.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Alcock first gained widespread attention playing young Rhaenyra Targaryen in \u201cHouse of the Dragon,\u201d the \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d\u00a0prequel that became one of HBO\u2019s biggest recent hits. She later appeared on \u201cSirens\u201d before landing the lead role in \u201cSupergirl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actress also spoke openly about the stress of her new role, admitting she feared audience reaction while stepping into one of DC\u2019s most recognizable superhero franchises.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course I\u2019m scared,\u201d Alcock said in March. \u201cOf course, I want people to like me and the movie.
