We own a ferry now,&#8217;\u201d Jost, 43, recalled. \u201cAnd she was like, \u2018We?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cWeekend Update\u201d host pulled the trigger and bought the 277-foot ferryboat with former \u201cSNL\u201d co-star Pete Davidson, 32, and business partners Paul Italia and Ron Castellano in January 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Davidson, during a chat with \u201cEntertainment Tonight\u201d in June 2023, claimed that he and Jost <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/06\/06\/pete-davidson-colin-jost-were-stoned-when-they-bought-ferry\/\">were \u201cvery stoned\u201d<\/a> when they purchased the decommissioned vessel at an auction.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d comedian (pictured here with Johansson in September 2025) revealed his wife\u2019s response to the ferry purchase in a teaser for the May 4 episode of the \u201cSmartless\u201d podcast. <span class=\"credit\">Gregory Pace \/ Shutterstock<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cI texted Scarlett, like, \u2018Guess what? We own a ferry now,&#8217;\u201d Jost recalled. \u201cAnd she was like, \u2018We?&#8217;\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI have no idea what\u2019s going on with that thing,\u201d he added at the time. \u201cHopefully it turns into a Transformer and gets the f\u2014k out of there so I can stop paying for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His friend and business partner, however, quickly <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/06\/15\/colin-jost-denies-he-was-stoned-buying-ferry-with-pete-davidson\/\">denied Davidson\u2019s claim<\/a> that they were both \u201cvery stoned\u201d when they bought the ferryboat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs it worse that I was actually stone-cold sober when we bought the ferry?\u201d Jost wrote on Instagram. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to prove the non-believers wrong. You\u2019re going to be BEGGING to get on this ferry in two years. Mark my words.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jost and Johansson went on to address the elephant in the room more recently <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/01\/23\/entertainment\/scarlett-johansson-colin-jost-debate-selling-staten-island-ferry\/\">during an episode of\u00a0\u201cTODAY with Jenna &amp;
