I just want enough of the vehicle that I can still connect with an audience in the way that I do now and laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Frankel, 55, and Jason, 54, tied the knot in 2010 <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2012\/12\/23\/bethenny-frankel-and-husband-jason-hoppy-separating\/\">before splitting in 2012.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The exes had a contentious divorce and bitter custody battle over Bryn.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The Skinnygirl founder (pictured here with her daughter) said due to \u201cpersonal things\u201d happening in Bryn\u2019s \u201cfamily dynamics,\u201d she wants the teen \u201cto be more part of a community.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">bethenny frankel\/ instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cI want a unit, I want a family. I want to be part of a team,\u201d the media mogul (pictured here in a selfie with her daughter) elaborated.  <span class=\"credit\">bethenny frankel\/ instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Frankel and Jason reached a <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2014\/06\/04\/bethenny-frankel-settles-bitter-custody-battle\/\">custody settlement in 2014<\/a>, but their <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/03\/23\/bethenny-frankel-and-jason-hoppy-finalize-their-divorce\/\">divorce wasn\u2019t finalized until 2021. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the time, a judge ultimately ruled Frankel did not have to pay her ex child support since Bryn resided with her the majority of the time.<\/p>\n<p>Jason said during a 2021 court hearing, \u201cI will not spend the remainder of Bryn\u2019s childhood fighting as we share joint physical custody. (The former flames are pictured here in 2012.) <span class=\"credit\">GC Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Frankel described the move as the \u201chealthiest life choice\u201d for her family.<\/p>\n<p>That same year, the Skinnygirl founder <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/12\/03\/celebrity-news\/bethenny-frankel-cries-over-traumatic-jason-hoppy-divorce-thought-i-would-never-survive-it\/\">opened up about her lengthy divorce from Jason<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Frankel said, while on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vSAIbL1946E\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast<\/a>, that despite her horrific childhood experiences, \u201cnothing compares to what my divorce was for 10 years. Nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was so traumatic. It was 10 years of my life. I lost hair. I thought I would never survive it. I didn\u2019t want to,\u201d she confessed to Cooper as she got choked up. \u201cI had to because of my daughter. Jason denied the charges.<\/p>\n<p>However, Frankel made it clear that she tries to \u201cnever talk bad\u201d about Jason in front of Bryn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust because you\u2019re not saying it in front of the child, it doesn\u2019t mean they don\u2019t feel,\u201d she stated. \u201cIt\u2019s a long road. Your kids will become cognizant, and they will understand. You don\u2019t have to say it to them.
