Brown, confirming the loss to TMZ.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s survived by his wife and two children, who are said to be \u201cdevastated\u201d following his death on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The actor\u2019s cousin, Donte \u201cHammer\u201d Harrison of the Harlem Globetrotters,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DYqaXe6DX7w\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">took to social media<\/a>\u00a0to share details of Chapman\u2019s final years. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLife gave my cousin Grizz Chapman some heavy battles, but he fought them with strength and dignity until the very end,\u201d Harrison wrote alongside a pic of him on a basketball court with Chapman. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Chapman played Grizz Griswold in the Emmy winning NBC series. A good heart, good energy, and somebody who made an impact in this life.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Harrison noted that his cousin \u201cpassed peacefully in his sleep\u201d on Friday \u201cafter years of fighting illness and dialysis.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The athlete concluded the post, \u201cI\u2019m thankful we got time to reconnect 2 months before his passing.<br \/>Rest easy, cousin.
