Why do they get to steal our brilliance and use it to make executives rich while the artists responsible for feeding their robots go hungry??\u201d the \u201cAvengers\u201d actress, 46, wrote in a Wednesday Instagram post alongside a video showing her reaction to the news.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDisgusting. California lawmakers\u2026where are you?!?!?\u201d Lilly wrote of the news alongside a video showing her reaction to the update. <span class=\"credit\">evangelinelillyofficial\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Lilly continued, offering some words of support for the Marvel Studios artists \u201cwho designed and brought to life the glory days of Marvel.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI salute you,\u201d she wrote, adding a salute emoji. \u201cI was there. I know what you did. I know how passionately you worked round the clock to make magic happen. You are the magicians, no matter what the Wizards of our new Oz make it look like going forward. I will never forget.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actress \u2014 who <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/06\/04\/entertainment\/evangeline-lilly-44-announces-shes-retiring-from-acting\/\">announced her retirement<\/a> from acting in June 2024 \u2014 then turned her focus on Disney, slamming the company with an explosive message.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSHAME ON YOU for turning your back on the people who built the power you are now using to throw them away,\u201d she said, tagging the company. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Lilly (pictured above at the UK Gala Screening of \u201cAnt-Man\u201d in 2023) then showed her support for the artists who \u201cdesigned and brought to life the glory days of Marvel,\u201d saying she salutes them.  <span class=\"credit\">Gareth Cattermole\/Getty Images for Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>She tagged Disney, telling the company, \u201cSHAME ON YOU for turning your back on the people who built the power you are now using to throw them away.\u201d (Seen above is Lilly at a celebrity talk event during Tokyo Comic Con in 2023).  <span class=\"credit\">WireImage<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The actress closed by urging her followers to show love to Marvel Studios\u2019 Director of Visual Development, Andy Park, and thanking Patrick Caligiuri, who shared the news about the \u201cbloodbath\u201d layoffs at Disney in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DXI6xfDjKNr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an Instagram Reel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On April 14, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/04\/marvel-layoffs-disney-1236860699\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deadline<\/a> reported about 8% of the workforce at both Marvel Entertainment in New York and Marvel Studios in Burbank, California, offices were hit with layoffs.<\/p>\n<p>The shuttering spanned across most departments, including film and TV production, visual development, comics, franchise, finance and legal.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Disney laid off about 8% of the workforce at both Marvel studios in New York and Burbank, California, earlier this month.
