The two met while she was on a trip to his home country, where he worked as a hotel concierge.<\/p>\n<p>Marissa, 45, grew up extremely wealthy and also has a high-paying job in New York City, while Edward, 32, has never been on an airplane.<\/p>\n<p>Marissa\u2019s ex-husband, Michael \u2014 whom she shares her two sons with \u2014 was openly hostile about Edward\u2019s arrival and their family\u2019s changing dynamic. He questioned Edward\u2019s motive for being with Marissa, wondering if he was only trying to get a green card.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>On Sunday\u2019s episode of \u201c90 Day Fianc\u00e9,\u201d Marissa had a serious conversation with her ex-husband, Michael, about her fianc\u00e9, Edward, arriving to the US from the Dominican Republic. <span class=\"credit\">TLC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Michael was skeptical about Edward\u2019s intentions with Marissa, given that Marissa is extremely wealthy and Edward was a hotel concierge in the Dominican Republic. <span class=\"credit\">TLC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Michael shared that Marissa\u2019s wealthy family was an issue in their own marriage, because he felt like \u201ca loser.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou got a million-dollar home here and it can make you feel a certain way,\u201d he told her. \u201cLook, I didn\u2019t feel like I fit in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marissa acknowledged her parents were \u201caffluent people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve exposed me to a lot as far as traveling, really nice vacations, beautiful hotels, things like that,\u201d she explained. \u201cI know it\u2019ll be intimidating for Edward to meet and spend time with my family because they\u2019re probably going to judge him and wonder what his intentions are, just like they did with Michael.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Michael said he was going to have \u201can attitude\u201d with Edward and warned Marissa that it was going to be.a problem if their two sons were affected by Edward. <span class=\"credit\">TLC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Michael said he would \u201cbite someone\u2019s face off\u201d for his children. <span class=\"credit\">TLC<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Michael admitted he was going to have an attitude when it came to Edward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only thing that was an absolute problem is if it\u2019s going to add stress to my boys, it\u2019s going to be both of your guys\u2019 problems,\u201d he threatened.<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cHe needs to not come in hot and heavy and come at me a certain way because especially when it comes to my kids, I\u2019ll bite someone\u2019s face off for my kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marissa worried about Michael confronting Edward, noting that her ex was \u201cvery scary and intimidating\u201d when he was worked up.
