Rumors have been whistling around the artsy\/literary scene that Andy Warhol\u2019s magazine has suffered a mass exodus of staff in the last few days, and that the outlet is on its way out (for the second time) after 56 years.<\/p>\n<p>Ottenberg \u2014 a big-time fashion stylist who has worked with Rihanna and Justin Bieber, among many others \u2014 became the magazine\u2019s creative director in 2018, then its editor in 2021.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Debbie Harry on teh front cover of Interview magazine in 1979. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Andy Warhol with Jeri Miller at a party for Interview magazine in 1972. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He added, \u201cIt\u2019s been a long time since anyone left Interview and a few people indeed left recently, and that\u2019s OK. We\u2019ve hired two new people in the last week.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Warhol founded Interview in 1969 with journalist and Village Voice co-founder John Wilcock, and it would be edited by Factory types including Gerard Malanga, Glenn O\u2019Brien and Bob Colacello.<\/p>\n<p>It became famous for having celebrities interview other celebrities. Robert Pattinson and Zendaya recently interviewed each other, Beyonc\u00e9 interviewed sister Solange Knowles in 2017, and Jon Voight interviewed Angelina Jolie in 1997, for example.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Mel Ottenberg attends \u201cThe Moment\u201d premiere on Jan. 23, 2026. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Peter and Sandra Brant\u2019s Brant Publications bought the title in 1989, and Ingrid Sischy headed it for nearly 20 years, until 2008.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018 it filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and appeared to be shuttering.<\/p>\n<p>But three months later, Peter bought the magazine out of bankruptcy, and it relaunched as a bimonthly magazine, rather than a monthly.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/26\/entertainment\/mass-exodus-at-interview-mag-as-rumors-swirl-its-folding-but-top-editor-says-no\/\" target=\"_blank\">Source link<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interview says it\u2019s nothing but chatter.
