was spotted for the first time filming the upcoming installment of \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d \u2014 which is set at a luxury hotel during the\u00a0Cannes Film Festival in France \u2014 on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>A month after <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/28\/entertainment\/the-white-lotus-casts-laura-dern-to-replace-helena-bonham-carter-after-sudden-exit\/\">replacing Helena Bonham Carter<\/a>, Dern posed at the film festival\u2019s iconic red steps alongside co-stars, Chris Messina,\u00a0Marissa Long\u00a0and\u00a0Charlie Hall.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Charlie Hall, Chris Messina, Laura Dern, Marissa Long and Alexandre Haggai were pictured filming Season 4 of \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d on Tuesday, as they ascended the venue\u2019s stairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSurvivor\u201d contestant Charlie Davis, who series creator Mike White recently cast in the HBO drama, was spotted near Dern and what appeared to be her onscreen family.<\/p>\n<p>AJ Michalka and Alexander Ludwig were also photographed\u00a0filming their own scenes in the same location.<\/p>\n<p>Production began in April \u2014 with Carter, 60, <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/25\/entertainment\/helena-bonham-carter-exits-the-white-lotus-days-into-filming-season-4\/\">exiting the series<\/a> days later.<\/p>\n<figure not be working with the \u201cCorpse Bride\u201d star.<\/p>\n<p>However, executives \u201cvery much hope to work with the legendary actress on another project soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dern, who was quickly cast in Carter\u2019s place, has collaborated with White on multiple projects over the years.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Dern recently replaced Helena Bonham Carter after the \u201cCorpse Bride\u201d star\u2019s sudden exit from the show. <span of \u201cThe White Lotus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The duo also worked together on 2007\u2019s \u201cYear of the Dog,\u201d as well as 2011\u2019s HBO drama \u201cEnlightened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new season of \u201cThe White Lotus\u201d also includes Rosie Perez,\u00a0Max Greenfield, Kumail Nanjiani, Chloe Bennet, Heather Graham,\u00a0Steve Coogan and Sandra Bernhard.<\/p>\n<p>Along with Davis, White tapped fellow \u201cSurvivor\u201d contestant Kamilla Karthiges to make a cameo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody\u2019s invited, but there are gonna be two contestants that we\u2019re flying out to be in the show, and they are Charlie and Kamilla,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/21\/entertainment\/mike-white-taps-two-survivor-50-contestants-for-white-lotus-season-4\/\">White told \u201cSurvivor\u201d host Jeff Probst<\/a> on a video call from France during the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/21\/entertainment\/jeff-probst-accidentally-spoils-survivor-50-finale-result-during-live-tv-gaffe\/\">\u201cSurvivor 50\u201d finale<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>An HBO spokesperson said: \u201cWith filming just underway on season four of \u2018The White Lotus,\u2019 it had become apparent that the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter (pictured here in January) did not align once on set.\u201d <span spoke in French, with Davis teasing, \u201cHopefully we\u2019ll practice. \u2026 Thank you, Mike, we\u2019re so excited!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan\u2019t wait to see you soon!\u201d Karthigesu gushed.<\/p>\n<p>White is no stranger to curating the perfect ensemble cast for the Emmy award-winning show. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter
