{"id":3749,"date":"2026-05-27T23:42:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T23:42:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/knicks-championship-miraculously-heals-feud-between-james-dolan-and-spike-lee\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T23:42:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T23:42:17","slug":"knicks-championship-miraculously-heals-feud-between-james-dolan-and-spike-lee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/knicks-championship-miraculously-heals-feud-between-james-dolan-and-spike-lee\/","title":{"rendered":"Knicks championship miraculously heals feud between James Dolan and Spike Lee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F3%2F2026%2F05%2F128880013.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>He did the right thing.<\/p>\n<p>The Knicks\u2019 championship run seems to be healing the long-simmering feud between Madison Square Garden boss James Dolan and the team\u2019s most famous superfan, Spike Lee.<\/p>\n<p>Dolan and the \u201cDo The Right Thing\u201d director have had a combative relationship in the past, with Lee claiming in 2020 that the billionaire owner was \u201charassing\u201d him.<\/p>\n<p>But we\u2019re told that Dolan went out of his way to make sure that Lee wasn\u2019t left out of the team\u2019s celebrations after its Game 4 win in Cleveland, which put them in the NBA finals for the first time since 1999.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>James Dolan and Spike Lee appear to have mended their years-long feud at at Game 4 on Monday night. <span class=\"credit\">Charles Wenzelberg\/New York Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We\u2019re told that after the final buzzer, orange tape was put down on the court while the team was presented with the Eastern Conference Championship trophy.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>But we hear when Dolan spotted Lee standing outside of the area, he went over and brought the Oscar- winner across the thin orange line.<\/p>\n<p>Photos show the pair embracing in the afterglow of the win.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Dolan confirms, \u201cThere was a taped off area for players and their families, back office people of the Knicks\u201d and other VIPs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>A spy tells Page Six that Dolan saw Lee and pulled him into the area for the trophy ceremony after the Knicks triumphed over the Cavs.  <span class=\"credit\">Charles Wenzelberg\/New York Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The pair \u2014 who have publicly sparred \u2014 appear to be moving on from the past as the Knicks head into the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999. <span class=\"credit\">Charles Wenzelberg\/New York Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Other <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/05\/25\/sports\/knicks-celebs-show-out-for-game-4-despite-cavaliers-courtside-ticket-blockade\/\">celebs at the game<\/a> included\u00a0Timothee Chalamet and girlfriend Kylie Jenner, Ben Stiller, Tracy Morgan, Fat Joe, Patrick Ewing and Walt \u201cClyde\u201d Frazier.<\/p>\n<p>A feud erupted between Dolan and Lee in 2020 after Lee was stopped at the media and employee entrance at\u00a0West 33rd Street and asked to enter the VIP entrance. Lee claimed he had been using that entrance for 30 years and <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/03\/03\/spike-lee-declares-war-on-knicks-after-being-harassed-by-james-dolan\/\">told\u00a0ESPN\u2019s \u201cFirst Take,\u201d<\/a> \u201cI\u2019m being harassed by James Dolan. I don\u2019t know why.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The feel good moment happened during the trophy ceremony. <span class=\"credit\">NBAE via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Lee had publicly accused the team owner of \u201charassing\u201d him following a dispute over which entrance he could use at Madison Square Garden in 2020. <span class=\"credit\">Charles Wenzelberg\/New York Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A Knicks spokesperson claimed at the time that he had been asked repeatedly not to use that entrance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe idea that Spike Lee is a victim because we have repeatedly asked him to not use our employee entrance and instead use a dedicated V.I.P. entrance \u2014 which is used by every other celebrity who enters The Garden \u2014 is laughable,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/03\/03\/knicks-hit-back-at-laughable-spike-lee-complaint-with-handshake-photo\/\">a Knicks spokesperson said<\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Lee shot back,\u00a0\u201cWhat\u2019s laughable is how the Knicks are the laughingstock of the league.\u00a0This press release, which is upsetting me, is an unmitigated, baldfaced lie. . .\u00a0\u00a0That they say that they had repeatedly asked me not to use the employee entrance. That is a lie.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Lee was seen celebrating with fellow superfan, Timothee Chalamet  <span class=\"credit\">David Richard-Imagn Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Madison Square Garden will host Games 3 and 4 on June 8 and 10. If it gets to Game 6, it will be at the arena June 16.  <span class=\"credit\">Brett Davis-Imagn Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The pair were photographed shortly after shaking hands at a game, which became it\u2019s own brouhaha with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/03\/03\/sports\/basketball\/spike-lee-knicks.html\">Lee calling it a<\/a> \u201cset-up photo op.\u201d He also said he wanted the billionaire to sell the team.<\/p>\n<p>Lee also critized Dolan for his handling of an incident in which Charles Oakley was<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2017\/02\/08\/security-drags-charles-oakley-out-of-knicks-game-in-unreal-scene\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0dragged out of the arena and arrested<\/a>\u00a0after scuffling with MSG security guards at a game on Feb. 8, 2017.
