{"id":381,"date":"2026-05-01T00:15:06","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T00:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/taylor-frankie-paul-and-dakota-mortensen-seen-together-in-utah-court\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T00:15:06","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T00:15:06","slug":"taylor-frankie-paul-and-dakota-mortensen-seen-together-in-utah-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/taylor-frankie-paul-and-dakota-mortensen-seen-together-in-utah-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen seen together in Utah court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/04\/126737299.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen reunited in court in Utah for the first time since their legal drama began in February.<\/p>\n<p>According to a live video stream <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/04\/30\/taylor-frankie-paul-dakota-mortensen-in-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aired by TMZ<\/a>, the former couple sat with serious expressions during the ongoing proceedings on Thursday, which concern custody of their son, Ever, 2.<\/p>\n<p>They are also currently hashing out details of the dueling protective orders they\u2019ve filed against one another following a spate of alleged domestic violence incidents. <\/p>\n<p>Paul was joined by mother Liann May, stepdad Jeremy May and sister Aspyn May.<\/p>\n<p>During the proceedings, Mortensen\u2019s lawyer claimed the reality personality was \u201cafraid.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy has he put up with this? Why did he wait so long to do anything?\u201d he said during the hearing. \u201cThe answer is because he was afraid of the force that would happen against him.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Taylor Frankie Paul was seen in court in Utah today (above) in her first appearance with ex Dakota Mortensen since their legal drama emerged.  <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Mortensen (above in court) appeared serious during the proceedings, which concern their dueling restraining orders and custody of their son, Ever.  <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Mortensen\u2019s lawyer also called his client a male \u201cdomestic violence victim\u201d and said he is \u201ccoerced either through romantic interest or interests involving his son and with very charismatic tests, and very charismatic personality to come back and rejoin this romantic relationship until it blows up, again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paul\u2019s lawyer, meanwhile, shot back with allegations that Mortensen is trying to \u201cdestroy\u201d her. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wants to literally destroy her. He was to subject her and her family to a new round of torment,\u201d Paul\u2019s lawyer asserted. \u201cYes, there are career implications to it. There\u2019s massive embarrassment associated with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/taylor-frankie-paul-suffered-2-miscarriages-before-dv-incident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to Us Weekly<\/a>, Paul\u2019s lawyer also claimed she suffered two miscarriages amid their February confrontation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were going through some challenges, of course, compounded by the fact that my client was dealing with two recent miscarriages,\u201d Paul\u2019s lawyer said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>During the livestreamed hearing, Mortensen\u2019s lawyer said he was a victim of domestic violence.  <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Paul\u2019s lawyer claimed she suffered two miscarriages around the time they had their alleged February confrontation. They\u2019re seen above on \u201cThe Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The public appearance marks the first time they\u2019ve been seen together since news emerged that the pair was facing multiple domestic violence investigations over alleged confrontations, leading up to the <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/19\/entertainment\/abc-cancels-taylor-frankie-pauls-season-of-the-bachelorette\/\">cancellation of Paul\u2019s season<\/a> of \u201cThe Bachelorette\u201d in March. <\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Draper City Police Department\u00a0and\u00a0West Jordan Police Department\u00a0in Utah opened domestic violence investigations in February, following allegations from both Mortensen and Paul that they\u2019d acted out with violence during a series of alleged confrontations earlier that month. <\/p>\n<p>The Salt Lake County District Attorney\u2019s office <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/14\/celebrity-news\/taylor-frankie-paul-wont-face-new-charges-following-domestic-violence-investigations\/\">declined to file new charges against Paul<\/a> earlier this month due to an \u201cevidentiary issue\u201d with the investigations led by West Jordan and Draper Police Departments, according to a press release.<\/p>\n<p>The DA\u2019s office claimed that in the West Jordan investigation, \u201cthe complainant in these cases reported several incidents \u2013 some of which occurred more than three years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Minor offenses that allegedly occurred more than two years ago are \u201cbarred by the statute of limitations,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>It also said the allegations against <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/21\/celebrity-news\/the-secret-lives-of-mormon-wives-resuming-production-following-taylor-frankie-paul-fallout\/\">the \u201cSecret Lives of Mormon Wives\u201d<\/a> star, 31, \u201cdo not rise to the level of criminal offenses.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The appearance was their first since news emerged they were facing multiple domestic violence investigations. Such incidents lack specificity as to when and what actually occurred or corroboration,\u201d it read. <\/p>\n<p>In March, footage was released of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/19\/celebrity-news\/taylor-frankie-paul-attacks-dakota-mortensen-with-chair-in-front-of-daughter-video\/\">violent 2023 encounter with Mortensen<\/a>, in which Paul was seen throwing barstools as her daughter Indy, now 8, sat nearby. <\/p>\n<p>Paul was previously arrested\u00a0over the 2023 alleged incident, later pleading guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault. The other charges were dropped.<\/p>\n<p>Following the video\u2019s release last month, ABC promptly <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/19\/entertainment\/abc-cancels-taylor-frankie-pauls-season-of-the-bachelorette\/\">canceled Paul\u2019s season<\/a>\u00a0of \u201cThe Bachelorette. <\/p>\n<p>On March 25, news emerged that the reality star was facing a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/25\/celebrity-news\/mormon-wives-star-taylor-frankie-paul-under-investigation-for-third-domestic-violence-incident\/\">third domestic violence investigation<\/a>\u00a0by the West Jordan Police Department, on top of the two investigations being pursued by Draper Police in Utah.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Video emerged in March of Paul engaged in an apparent 2023 altercation with Mortensen. She\u2019s seen above in a promotional shot for the ABC series.  <span class=\"credit\">Disney<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Though new charges won\u2019t be filed, Paul\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/20\/celebrity-news\/taylor-frankie-paul-loses-custody-of-son-after-disturbing-dakota-mortensen-fight-video-surfaces\/\">custody battle with Mortensen<\/a>, 33, continues after he petitioned for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/19\/celebrity-news\/taylor-frankie-paul-allegedly-choked-ex-dakota-mortensen-he-claims-in-restraining-order-filing\/\">a restraining order<\/a>\u00a0against her \u2014 and was granted temporary custody of Ever. <\/p>\n<p>Mortensen has <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/16\/celebrity-news\/taylor-frankie-paul-and-dakota-mortensen-showcase-gruesome-bloody-injuries-from-alleged-domestic-violence-incidents\/\">submitted photos of alleged injuries<\/a> he obtained as a result of their confrontations, with one photo showing what appeared to be a bloodied nose. <\/p>\n<p>Paul \u2014 who also shares son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul \u2014 was granted <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/07\/celebrity-news\/taylor-frankie-paul-faces-custody-blow-in-court-as-judge-is-concerned-over-her-volatile-behavior\/\">supervised visitation<\/a>\u00a0with Ever amid concerns about her \u201cvolatile\u201d behavior.
