I don\u2019t know who he is, but I think he\u2019ll be someone to me.\u2019 Little did I know how right I\u2019d be. And how lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Strayed has frequently spoken about her husband\u2019s support throughout her career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no doing it without him,\u201d she told <a href=\"https:\/\/thegreatdiscontent.com\/interview\/cheryl-strayed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Great Discontent<\/a> in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was writing \u2018Torch,\u2019 he believed in me more than I believed in myself. He\u2019s always, always, always been there for me, every time I needed him. He encourages me. He believes in me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s an amazing person and an amazing filmmaker,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany people ask us if we\u2019re jealous of each other or competitive because we\u2019re both artists.
