He\u2019s been a very good sounding board to his cousin over the years,\u201d Nash said. \u201cSo it absolutely makes sense that I think had both Wales brothers been there, it would have put a completely different slant on the whole event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd that\u2019s not what you want on what should be the happiest day of your life, right?\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Nash recalled Phillips, 48, being the \u201cpeacemaker\u201d between the Duke of Sussex, 41, and his older brother, 43, during <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/05\/21\/prince-harry-was-afraid-to-return-to-uk-for-philips-funeral\/\">Prince Philip\u2019s 2021 funeral<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Phillips previously played \u201cpeacemaker\u201d between the \u201cwarring brothers\u201d at Prince Philip\u2019s funeral, Nash said. (Harry and Markle are seen here in April.) <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cPeter was positioned between the two warring brothers,\u201d Nash said. \u201cHe was sort of put right in the middle of them as the older cousin, and that must have been a really difficult moment for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cOf course, a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Nash cited Harry\u2019s tell-all memoir <a data-aps-asc-tag=\"pagesix-20\" data-aps-asin=\"0593593804\" data-wrapped-template=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url\" href=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FSpare-Prince-Harry-Duke-Sussex%2Fdp%2F0593593804%3Ftag%3Dpagesix-20%26asc_refurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fpagesix.com%2F2026%2F06%2F02%2Froyal-family%2Fwhy-prince-harry-was-snubbed-from-cousins-wedding-despite-prince-william-being-invited%2F%26asc_source%3Dweb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">\u201cSpare\u201d<\/a> and his and wife Meghan Markle\u2019s Netflix docuseries \u2014 both of which laid bare the family\u2019s private tensions \u2014 as more reasons for his falling out with Princess Anne\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p>The Hello! Magazine editor believes it was a \u201csmart\u201d move that Harry was snubbed from the wedding. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Nash believes it was a \u201csmart\u201d decision for Harry (seen here in April) not to be invited to the wedding.  <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cThat would have become the absolute focal point for Peter and Harriet\u2019s special day,\u201d Nash said of Harry (seen here with Markle, Phillips and Zara Tindall in 2022.) <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p id=\"block-7e7ce141-23ac-49ec-8498-21b4ba4bd48b\">\u201cIf that had been the case, that would have become the absolute focal point for Peter and Harriet\u2019s special day, and there have been enough distractions, I think, from the good things about the royal family over the past year,\u201d Nash said. \u201cHopefully, they can just have this one day to come together and celebrate someone\u2019s happy news for a change.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>William and wife Kate Middleton are expected to attend the June 6 nuptials, and Nash believes King Charles III will also \u201cmake an appearance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also expects that the Prince and Princess of Wales\u2019 kids could attend, and Phillips\u2019 sister, Zara Tindall, and her husband, Mike, are a definite yes.<\/p>\n<p>Harriet\u2019s daughter\u00a0from her first marriage to Antonio St. John Sperling, Georgina, is expected to attend as well. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Nash said Phillips hasn\u2019t talked to Harry (seen here in 2022 between William and Phillips) \u201cfor the last few years.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>William is expected to attend the wedding with Kate Middleton.
