I haven\u2019t given up on my friend,\u201d the \u201cBatman Beyond\u201d alum<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/will-friedel-danielle-fishel-talk-about-ben-savage-exclusive-11989605\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> told People<\/a> on Wednesday. \u201cI\u2019m hoping that he comes back into our lives at some point, and when he does, we\u2019re going to have a lot to talk about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actor admitted he still has the urge \u201cto pick up the phone\u201d and called Savage so they can talk.<\/p>\n<p>Friedle and Savage played onscreen brothers Eric and Cory Matthews, respectively, on the ABC series for its entire seven-season run from 1993 to 2000. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Will Friedle (pictured in 2022) hasn\u2019t \u201cgiven up\u201d on former \u201cBoy Meets World\u201d co-star Ben Savage as he continues to ghost him and the rest of the cast. <span class=\"credit\">The Walt Disney Company via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The actor admitted he still has the urge \u201cto pick up the phone\u201d and called Savage (the two pictured in 1999), who was his onscreen brother from 1993 to 2000. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9ABC\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Danielle Fishel, who played Savage\u2019s love interest, Topanga Lawrence, on the coming-of-age sitcom, expressed the same sentiment about wanting to hear from their former friend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love imagining him in this new chapter of his life as a dad. I know he has <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/parents\/celebrity-babies-2025\/\">had a baby girl<\/a>,\u201d Fishel said. \u201cHe\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2023\/03\/16\/boy-meets-world-star-ben-savage-is-married-to-tessa-angermeier\/\">now a husband<\/a>. So I love just thinking about him [in that capacity].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe talked a lot about how he looked forward to being a dad someday. So I like imagining this phase of life that he\u2019s in now,\u201d she said, adding that it makes her \u201csad\u201d she can\u2019t be a part of the other \u201cmilestones\u201d in Savage\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p>However, the \u201cDancing With the Stars\u201d alum shared that she\u2019s reached \u201ca place of immense understanding and grace\u201d when it comes to Savage not wanting to \u201clook back\u201d at their time on the show.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cI\u2019m hoping that he comes back into our lives at some point, and when he does, we\u2019re going to have a lot to talk about,\u201d Friedle (pictured with the \u201cBoy Meets World\u201d cast) told People Wednesday. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9ABC\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Danielle Fishel, (seen above with Savage and Rider Strong) who played Savage\u2019s love interest on the ABC coming-of-age sitcom, said she is \u201csad\u201d she can\u2019t be a part of Savage\u2019s \u201cmilestones.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">ben savage\/ instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cNot everybody wants to talk about uncomfortable truths,\u201d she explained. \u201cThe three of us said it was something that we did want to do. Although we were nervous, it was a journey we were willing and excited to go down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fishel, 45, and Friedle, 49, launched rewatch podcast \u201cPod Meets World\u201d with fellow former\u00a0\u201cBoy Meets World\u201d\u00a0co-star\u00a0Rider Strong\u00a0in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Savage was initially reported to co-host the show as well, but made the decision to step away from the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been hard,\u201d Friedle said of Savage\u2019s absence from the project. \u201cJust today, literally, we were recording an episode this morning of \u2018Pod Meets World\u2019 and there came a question that we all wanted to know, that we know if Ben had been on with us, it would have been answered like <em>that<\/em> and we would have heard a great story.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cI love imagining him in this new chapter of his life as a dad. There\u2019s no falling out. There was no animosity. He just woke up one day, and decided \u2018I don\u2019t want this person in my life anymore.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe just kind of disappeared from our lives,\u201d Fishel told the outlet, adding, \u201cHe ghosted us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since distancing himself from the group, Savage pivoted to a career in politics \u2014 first running for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council in 2022 and then running as a Democrat for California\u2019s 30th Congressional District in 2024. There was no animosity.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Pod Meets World\/ Youtube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Earlier this month, William Daniels, who portrayed George Feeny on \u201cBoy Meets World,\u201d and his longtime wife, Bonnie Bartlett, who eventually became Mrs. Feeny on the beloved teen sitcom, <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/22\/entertainment\/william-daniels-bonnie-bartlett-lift-lid-on-boy-meets-world-casts-problems-on-set-years-before-ben-savage-feud\/\">revealed there were \u201cproblems\u201d among the cast and crew on set<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey have grown up together. They\u2019ve been very smart. They\u2019ve done well \u2014 all of them. That\u2019s very unusual in a cast with children,\u201d she marveled. \u201cThey\u2019ve done a good job of that. They\u2019re good people.
