A virtuoso musician could have a stroke and never be able to pick up their instrument again,&#8217;\u201d Grant, 65, told host Rachel Martin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8nrcNHFbx5U\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">during NPR\u2019s \u201cWild Card\u201d podcast<\/a> Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018All you do is you just take the hand you\u2019re dealt that day and live the life that you get,&#8217;\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Amy Grant (pictured here during Thursday\u2019s episode of NPR\u2019s \u201cWild Card\u201d podcast) said her husband, Vince Gill, gave her some perspective on the traumatic brain injury she suffered after her scary 2022 bike crash. <span class=\"credit\">Wild Card with Rachel Martin and NPR Podcasts\/Youtube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The six-time Grammy winner opened up about how Gill changed her outlook during NPR\u2019s \u201cWild Card\u201d podcast on Thursday. <span class=\"credit\">Wild Card with Rachel Martin and NPR Podcasts\/Youtube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The \u201cBaby, Baby\u201d singer and 69-year-old Gill, who is also a famed singer-songwriter, met in December 1993 and tied the knot in March 2000.<\/p>\n<p>They welcomed daughter Corrina, 25, in March 2001. Grant also shares three kids with her first husband, musician Gary Chapman, while Gill shares another daughter with his first wife, country singer Janis Oliver.<\/p>\n<p>But Grant began suffering a spate of health issues beginning in 2020 when she had to undergo life-saving open-heart surgery to correct a rare congenital heart condition.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cAll you do is you just take the hand you\u2019re dealt that day and live the life that you get,\u201d Gill (pictured here with Grant in November 2025) told his wife. <span class=\"credit\">Kevin Mazur\/Getty Images for CMA<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Grant and Gill (seen here in October 2018) met in December 1993 and tied the knot in March 2000. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for CMT<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Then, in July 2022, the \u201cEvery Heartbeat\u201d hitmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/07\/28\/amy-grant-hospitalized-after-bike-accident-in-nashville\/\">crashed her bicycle after hitting a pothole<\/a> during a ride around Nashville.<\/p>\n<p>Grant suffered a traumatic brain injury during the incident and was reportedly left unconscious for about 10 minutes. The injury caused lasting memory loss and balance issues for the Queen of Christian Pop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just remember in the fall of 2022 when my world was very quiet. I just remember saying to Vince, \u2018What if this is all I get back? News<\/a> in January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, I can\u2019t remember what I don\u2019t remember,\u201d the six-time Grammy winner told the outlet. \u201cMy memory is still coming back, and my stamina.
