{"id":4610,"date":"2026-06-04T12:40:35","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T12:40:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/anna-faris-beat-out-melissa-joan-hart-for-scary-movie-role\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T12:40:35","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T12:40:35","slug":"anna-faris-beat-out-melissa-joan-hart-for-scary-movie-role","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/anna-faris-beat-out-melissa-joan-hart-for-scary-movie-role\/","title":{"rendered":"Anna Faris beat out Melissa Joan Hart for &#8216;Scary Movie&#8217; role"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/wp-content%2Fuploads%2Fsites%2F3%2F2026%2F06%2F129708449.jpg?quality%3D90%26strip%3Dall\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Anna Faris beat out Melissa Joan Hart for the role of Cindy Campbell in the \u201cScary Movie\u201d franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Creators Marlon and Shawn Wayans dropped the casting bombshell to Faris while they promoted \u201cScary Movie 6\u201d in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DZH-gBljXEG\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new interview with \u201cEntertainment Tonight.\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was supposed to play Anna\u2019s part,\u201d Marlon, 53, said about the 50-year-old \u201cSabrina the Teenage Witch\u201d star.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Anna Faris (seen above at the \u201cScary Movie 6\u201d premiere) learned she beat out Melissa Joan Hart for the role of Cindy Campbell in the \u201cScary Movie\u201d franchise. <span class=\"credit\">John Salangsang\/Shutterstock<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Creators Marlon and Shawn Wayans told Faris that Hart (pictured above at Lifetime\u2019s \u201cWhen I Said I Do\u201d premiere on May 12) \u201cwas supposed to play\u201d Cindy. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know this,\u201d a stunned Faris, 49, responded. \u201cShe\u2019s good!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Marlon revealed his and Shawn\u2019s brother and co-creator, Keenan Wayans, was so impressed with Faris that he suggested they give her the role instead. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you took Melissa Joan Hart\u2019s job. Good job Anna!\u201d Marlon joked.<\/p>\n<p>The comedian quipped, \u201cWay to go. I\u2019m not\u2026 I\u2019m not trying to take food out of anyone\u2019s mouth!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marlon dubbed the situation \u201cwhite on white crime\u201d before telling Faris he was never going to deny her the role because she\u2019s \u201cthe star of the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, but barely,\u201d the \u201cHouse Bunny\u201d star responded. \u201cOnly because I work for free.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shawn joked to Faris, \u201cYou have low self-esteem. It\u2019s a bad of honor to work for free.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho needs self-esteem? It\u2019s overrated,\u201d Marlon declared, as Faris replied, \u201cIt is?
