Benji went with a casual black t-shirt and baseball cap as he watched his daughter mark the major milestone.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Nicole Richie and Benji Madden couldn\u2019t stop smiling as they celebrated their daughter Kate at her high school graduation (seen above).  <span class=\"credit\">BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The parents marked the event as a family, with Nicole\u2019s mother, Brenda Richie, and their rarely seen son Sparrow, also in attendance. <span class=\"credit\">BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>At one point, even Sparrow, 16, joined in the family photo moment, standing between Benji and Nicole as Kate smiled on the other end.  <\/p>\n<p>On her Instagram Stories, Kate marked the occasion by sharing a black and white photo of herself with her friends as they dressed in their caps and gowns, each blowing a kiss to the camera. <\/p>\n<p>She captioned the photo saying, \u201c[peace] out.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>At one point, Sparrow was seen joining the rest of the fam to take selfies with the graduate on the field.  <span class=\"credit\">BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Sparrow was dressed casually for the event, sporting a black graphic t-shirt and jeans \u2014 a similar look to his father\u2019s ensemble of a black shirt and matching pants.  <span class=\"credit\">BACKGRID<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kate later marked the occasion on her Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of herself and some friends in their caps and gowns (pictured here). <span class=\"credit\">katemaddennn\/Instagram<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It was reported in January that Kate, born Harlow Winter Kate Richie Madden, had officially <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/01\/15\/parents\/nicole-richie-reveals-daughter-harlow-18-goes-by-new-name\/\">started going by her middle name.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe goes by her middle name.
