I know the endgame, but it doesn\u2019t bother me,\u201d Frampton explained, noting that he\u2019s \u201clearned\u201d to change his life by using a cane and grabber tools around the house.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s also had to \u201cchange the way\u201d he plays guitar, telling us, \u201cIt is a challenge, and I\u2019m always up for a challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Frampton, who spoke to Page Six via Zoom on June 1, calls himself a \u201cvery positive person.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Page Six<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>\u201cI know the endgame, but it doesn\u2019t bother me,\u201d he shared. <span class=\"credit\">Page Six<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Grammy winner shared that the disease has transformed his outlook on life, making him realize that just like him, everyone is \u201cfighting a battle\u201d and \u201ceverybody\u2019s going through\u201d something.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just made me realize that kindness is the most important thing,\u201d he continued, \u201cbecause when you meet someone that you know or don\u2019t know, you have no idea what\u2019s going on in their life or in their body or whatever. So I just decided that I\u2019m going to concentrate on kindness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite his illness, Frampton wrapped up a tour last year and released his 19th solo studio album, \u201c<a data-aps-asc-tag=\"pagesix-20\" data-aps-asin=\"B0GSHFFNFZ\" data-wrapped-template=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url\" href=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FCarry-Light-Peter-Frampton%2Fdp%2FB0GSHFFNFZ%3Ftag%3Dpagesix-20%26asc_refurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fpagesix.com%2F2026%2F06%2F04%2Fentertainment%2Fpeter-frampton-shares-heartbreaking-update-on-rare-degenerative-disease%2F%26asc_source%3Dweb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">Carry The Light,<\/a>\u201d on May 15. (The musician photographed above in 1977.) <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">Frampton is also celebrating the new documentary,<a href=\"https:\/\/tribecafilm.com\/films\/frampton-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> \u201cFrampton,\u201d<\/a> which premieres Thursday evening at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tribecafilm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tribeca Festival<\/a>.<\/span> The engrossing film, directed by Frampton\u2019s own longtime bandleader Rob Arthur, features rare archival footage, candid interviews, and, of course, incredible concert moments.<\/p>\n<p>Fifty years ago, the double album <a data-aps-asc-tag=\"pagesix-20\" data-aps-asin=\"B000009HF2\" data-wrapped-template=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url\" href=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FFrampton-Comes-Alive-Peter%2Fdp%2FB000009HF2%3Ftag%3Dpagesix-20%26asc_refurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fpagesix.com%2F2026%2F06%2F04%2Fentertainment%2Fpeter-frampton-shares-heartbreaking-update-on-rare-degenerative-disease%2F%26asc_source%3Dweb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">\u201cFrampton Comes Alive\u201d<\/a> was released, spawning hit singles and becoming one of the best-selling live albums ever, with over seven million copies sold.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>He had one of the biggest-selling albums of all time with \u201cFrampton Comes Alive.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>He admits that the huge success was overwhelming and scary. <span class=\"credit\">Redferns<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Amazingly, his career got back on track when he played guitar on an old friend\u2019s tour: David Bowie\u2019s 1987 \u201cGlass Spider Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two first met in school when Bowie, then known as David Jones, was learning about art by Frampton\u2019s father.<\/p>\n<p>Frampton clearly remembers seeing a very young Bowie playing saxophone and singing in a band, and asking his father about him.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>A career lull ended when he performed with childhood friend David Bowie (seen above) on his \u201cGlass Spider\u201d tour. We\u2019ve been friends ever since.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bowie <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2016\/01\/11\/david-bowie-dies-after-battle-with-cancer\/\">sadly died<\/a> on Jan. 10, 2026, following a private battle with cancer. He was 69.<\/p>\n<p>Frampton\u2019s movie also reveals the close bond Frampton shares with his three children: Julian (whom he works with), Jade and Mia.
