But when Kimmel proposed Oprah, Hart immediately shot down the idea.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kevin Hart said Oprah Winfrey is the one celebrity who should never take part in a comedy roast. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for Netflix<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhat about Oprah? Would that be unacceptable?\u201d Kimmel asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019d be like spray painting the Sistine Chapel,\u201d Hart replied. \u201cIf I found out that Oprah said she wanted to do it, I\u2019m driving 100 miles per hour to Oprah\u2019s house. You cannot do this. No shot.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Hart\u2019s comments came less than a month after he survived <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/11\/celebrity-news\/best-jokes-cut-from-kevin-harts-netflix-roast-special\/\">a three-hour roast of his own<\/a> as part of the Netflix Is a Joke Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cRide Along\u201d star was the target of jokes from comedians and celebrity friends, including Chelsea Handler, Pete Davidson and Katt Williams.<\/p>\n<p>Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson and Tom Brady also made surprise appearances during the special.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Hart said he would drive \u201c100 miles per hour\u201d to stop it if the talk show host ever agreed to a roast. <span class=\"credit\">Tamara Beckwith\/NY Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When Kimmel asked whether any joke had actually hurt, Hart said <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/04\/celebrity-news\/kevin-hart-admits-dwayne-the-rock-johnsons-joke-caught-him-off-guard-during-brutal-roast\/\">Johnson was the only person who managed to catch him off guard<\/a> when he showed photos of both of their fathers as part of a joke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDwayne had the picture of my father and he had a mug shot of my dad and he goes, \u2018Look at my dad. Kev, we both love our dads,\u2019\u201d Hart said.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson then showed a photo of his own father, the late wrestler Rocky Johnson, looking as though he had just left the gym.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The comedian and actor recently survived Netflix\u2019s \u201cRoast of Kevin Hart\u201d featuring Chelsea Handler and Pete Davidson. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for Netflix<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHe had a picture of his dad in shape, you know, coming from the gym,\u201d Hart said.<\/p>\n<p>By comparison, the image selected for Hart\u2019s late father, Henry Robert Witherspoon, left much to be desired.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe goes, \u2018Look at Kevin\u2019s dad.\u2019 And it was the worst picture of my father I\u2019ve ever seen,\u201d Hart joked.<\/p>\n<p>Hart also recently <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/26\/celebrity-news\/kevin-hart-defends-tony-hinchliffes-roast-jokes-chelsea-handler-branded-racist\/\">defended Tony Hinchcliffe\u2019s roast material<\/a> after Chelsea Handler criticized it as \u201cracist.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Hart admitted Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson caught him off guard with a joke about their fathers. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for Netflix<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During the Netflix special, Hinchcliffe, who is white, delivered a joke to Hart referencing George Floyd, saying, \u201cThe black community is so proud of you. Right now, George Floyd is looking up at us all, laughing so hard he can\u2019t breathe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comment drew backlash online, but Hart pushed back on the reaction in an interview on \u201cThe Breakfast Club.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe George Floyd joke wasn\u2019t a tasteful joke to our culture, to our audience, but our audience that\u2019s watching the roast, if you\u2019re watching the roast, you get why they\u2019re doing it,\u201d he said. \u201cYou get why the racial humor is on the table. I wasn\u2019t shocked.
