Frampton joined Bowie on his 1987 \u201cGlass Spider\u201d tour and was still holding onto his magnificent mane.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was starting to, you know, go,\u201d he shared, \u201cand I still kept it really long. And my dear buddy for years, lifelong friend David said, \u2018You should cut your hair for this tour.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Frampton remembered thinking that was a terrible idea.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The musician spoke to Page Six on June 1 for an exclusive interview. <span class=\"credit\">Page Six<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Frampton said his hair was still long when he went on tour with David Bowie in 1987. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cSo, the man who recreates himself every five seconds is telling me to cut my hair,\u201d he explained, noting, \u201cI should have damn well done it then!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But he said not long after the tour, he pulled out the scissors and chopped it off.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cShow Me the Way\u201d singer, 76, is currently promoting the documentary \u201cFrampton,\u201d which premiered at the <a href=\"https:\/\/tribecafilm.com\/films\/frampton-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tribeca Festival on Thursday night.<\/a> The film, directed by Frampton\u2019s longtime bandleader Rob Arthur, features archival footage, interviews and thrilling concert moments.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Bowie advised him to cut it all off. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Frampton is currently promoting a documentary about his life, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 4. <span class=\"credit\">AP Photo\/Evan Agostini<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He also opens up about being <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/04\/entertainment\/peter-frampton-shares-heartbreaking-update-on-rare-degenerative-disease\/\">diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM),<\/a> a rare and progressive muscle disease, which affects his mobility and guitar playing.<\/p>\n<p>Frampton also has a new album out, <a data-aps-asc-tag=\"pagesix-20\" data-aps-asin=\"B0GSHFFNFZ\" data-wrapped-template=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url\" href=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FCarry-Light-Peter-Frampton%2Fdp%2FB0GSHFFNFZ%3Ftag%3Dpagesix-20%26asc_refurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fpagesix.com%2F2026%2F06%2F07%2Fcelebrity-news%2Fpeter-frampton-jokes-about-losing-his-hair%2F%26asc_source%3Dweb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">\u201cCarry The Light,\u201d<\/a> which he co-wrote and produced with his son, Julian, and features guest appearances by Sheryl Crow, H.E.R., Tom Morello and Graham Nash.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/07\/celebrity-news\/peter-frampton-jokes-about-losing-his-hair\/\" target=\"_blank\">Source link<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Peter Frampton joked he got a little frantic over losing his luxuriant locks.
