{"id":503,"date":"2026-05-01T19:32:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T19:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/matt-lauer-accuser-breaks-down-over-ex-today-show-superstar-harasser\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T19:32:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T19:32:27","slug":"matt-lauer-accuser-breaks-down-over-ex-today-show-superstar-harasser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/matt-lauer-accuser-breaks-down-over-ex-today-show-superstar-harasser\/","title":{"rendered":"Matt Lauer accuser breaks down over ex-&#8216;Today&#8217; show &#8216;superstar harasser&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/126791060.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Brooke Nevils, who famously <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/01\/29\/celebrity-news\/matt-lauer-accuser-brooke-nevils-breaks-down-why-she-didnt-call-police-after-alleged-2014-rape\/\">accused now-disgraced journalist Matt Lauer of sexual assault in 2017<\/a>, couldn\u2019t hold back her emotions as she recalled her experience with her alleged \u201csuperstar harasser\u201d while discussing her book, <a data-aps-asc-tag=\"pagesix-20\" data-aps-asin=\"1984880187\" data-wrapped-template=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url\" href=\"https:\/\/r.pagesixlink.com?btn_ref=org-282f0dd399864b44&amp;btn_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FUnspeakable-Things-Silence-Stories-Believe%2Fdp%2F1984880187%3Ftag%3Dpagesix-20%26asc_refurl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fpagesix.com%2F2026%2F05%2F01%2Fcelebrity-news%2Fmatt-lauer-accuser-breaks-down-over-ex-today-show-superstar-harasser%2F%26asc_source%3Dweb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">\u201cUnspeakable Things: Silence, Shame, and the Stories We Choose to Believe<\/a>,\u201d  in a Thursday interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I was researching this book, I interviewed a forensic psychologist who casually mentioned this EEOC report that I then looked up and it describes these \u2018superstar harassers,&#8217;\u201d Nevils <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=PwxMREnrgWo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told CNN anchor Pamela Brown<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The office committee\u2019s report warned employers of these potential \u201crain makers\u201d who \u201care perceived to be so valuable to a company that they can do no wrong.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Brooke Nevils, who accused Matt Lauer of sexual assault, tearfully recalled her experience with the \u201csuperstar harasser\u201d in a Thursday CNN interview, as pictured above.  <span class=\"credit\">CNN\/ Youtube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cMatt Lauer, at that point, at NBC could literally do no wrong,\u201d Nevils (pictured above in her Thursday CNN interview) said of the journalist, referencing the height of his career.  <span class=\"credit\">CNN\/ Youtube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cMatt Lauer, at that point, at NBC could literally do no wrong,\u201d Nevils said of the ex-\u201cToday\u201d show anchor elsewhere in the interview, explaining that it was \u201cunthinkable\u201d to believe her accusations could \u201cbe anything other than a misunderstanding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nevils previously alleged that <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2019\/10\/09\/ronan-farrow-book-claims-matt-lauer-raped-ex-nbc-staffer-in-sochi-hotel-room\/?_ga=2.158680378.1402054638.1570492978-480959481.1569610487\">Lauer, now 68, anally raped her\u00a0in his hotel room<\/a> while she was working as Meredith Vieira\u2018s personal assistant and covering the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. At the time, she claimed she was drunk and could not consent.<\/p>\n<p>She later shared that she and Lauer continued having \u201csexual\u201d interactions after they returned to New York. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Nevils came forward accusing Lauer (pictured above on an episode of the \u201cToday\u201d show) of sexually assaulting her while she was working with NBC covering the 2014 Winter Olympics.   <span class=\"credit\">NBCU Photo Bank\/NBCUniversal via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>She later admitted that she and Lauer (pictured here on an episode of the \u201cToday\u201d show) continued to have \u201csexual encounters\u201d after they returned to New York.  <span class=\"credit\">NBCU Photo Bank\/NBCUniversal via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cMy job was to smooth things over for the talent. So, I thought, \u2018This, I know how to do. i can smooth this over.\u2019 So, I went back and when I went back, the first thing that happened was he suggested I come meet him in his apartment,\u201d she said in her Thursday interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re sitting in the dressing room of the anchor of the \u2018Today\u2019 show in Studio 1A, are you really in a position to say no? Of course, you\u2019re not. And that just happened again and again.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most confusing part of it was that every single time, I thought I was fixing it. i was taking back control, but really, I was implicating myself in my own abuse. Then, by the time I understood that I was trapped, I knew I was going to be blamed for all of it. And I blamed myself,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>In 2017, Nevils filed a complaint against Lauer (seen above at NBC\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d at Rockefeller Plaza).  <span class=\"credit\">WireImage<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Within 24 hours, Lauer (seen above on a September 2017 episode of the \u201cToday\u201d show) was fired and several more women came forward with accusations against him.  <span class=\"credit\">NBCU Photo Bank\/NBCUniversal via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In 2017, Nevils filed a formal complaint against Lauer and \u2014 within 24 hours \u2014 Lauer was fired from his post on the \u201cToday\u201d show and NBC, and several other women came forward with accusations against him.<a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/01\/31\/celebrity-news\/brooke-nevils-slams-matt-lauer-for-labeling-their-sexual-relationship-as-consensual-after-alleged-2014-rape\/#\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In her memoir, Nevils recounts <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/01\/28\/celebrity-news\/broken-matt-lauer-accuser-describes-bloody-aftermath-of-alleged-2014-rape-in-harrowing-tell-all\/\">the alleged assault<\/a> in graphic detail. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt hurt to walk. It hurt to sit. It hurt to remember,\u201d she shares. She goes on to share that Lauer emailed her later that day with a message that read, \u201cYou don\u2019t call, you don\u2019t write \u2014 my feelings are hurt!
