But I was basically taken after school by someone,&#8221; she said on the Live, Laugh, Luke&#8230; with Luke Hamnett podcast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">She revealed she &#8216;blocked out&#8217; the incident and just focused on her career at the time: \u201cI think I just sort of blocked it and then had to just get back into, you know, promotion of our first single.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Keisha was held for a few hours by her kidnapper and said that needed therapy afterwards to deal with the trauma: &#8220;It was a few hours. So for a kid, you know, it\u2019s a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">In response to being questioned about having therapy afterwards, she said: \u201cOf course. I&#8217;ve actually been such an advocate of like therapy since I was 16, really.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">She revealed that the ordeal meant her parents pulled her out of school and she never returned to take her GCSEs. She revealed that her bandmate Siobhan Donaghty returned to education, but Mutya Buena also didn&#8217;t return.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cWe ended up leaving school. Siobhan went back to school to take her GCSEs and they accepted her back. When Mutya and I tried to get back, they were so rude.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;They were like, \u2018Oh no, no, no, you&#8217;re not coming back. Like you guys thought you were going to be these pop stars. Let&#8217;s see what&#8217;s going to happen.\u2019 So they wouldn\u2019t accept us back.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">When it came to looking to the future, Keisha revealed that their reunion has been going well: \u201cHonestly, I feel like, and it sounds really clich\u00e9, but I do feel like it&#8217;s by God&#8217;s grace.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;I genuinely feel that way because the things that have happened to us behind the scenes that no one even knows, like being kidnapped, I feel like there were so many things that have happened that really, some of us shouldn&#8217;t have even survived and we&#8217;re standing today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Sugababes began in the 90s but has had a changing line up over the years. Siobhan left in 2001 and Mutya left in 2005 &#8211; before they all reunited in 2011. Former members include; Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah, and Jade Ewen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Keisha is set to release a book that<a target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/3am\/celebrity-news\/masked-singer-keisha-buchanans-life-36726489\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\"> details her life story<\/a> including the kidnapping, plus the changing line-up of the and, and her fight &#8211; along with Siobhan and Mutya &#8211; to reclaim the band&#8217;s name.
