revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/01\/07\/celebrity-news\/nick-reiner-arraignment-delayed-again-as-lawyer-alan-jackson-quits-just-before-court-hearing\/\">he quit the murder case<\/a> because he wasn\u2019t paid the amount he was promised.<\/p>\n<p>In a declaration filed Monday with Reiner\u2019s new petition <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/09\/celebrity-news\/nick-reiner-demands-access-to-1-5m-trust-fund-to-fight-charges-in-parents-murders\/\">that is demanding access to his $1.5 million trust fund<\/a>, Jackson claimed he\u2019s ready to defend the accused murderer again if funding becomes available, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/06\/09\/attorney-alan-jackson-breaks-down-details-of-nick-reiner-court-case-drama\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to TMZ.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jackson explained he was initially asked to join the criminal case on the day <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/12\/15\/celebrity-news\/rob-reiner-and-wife-micheles-son-nick-arrested-for-murder-in-parents-stabbing-deaths\/\">the 32-year-old was arrested for the murders of his Jackson stated in his filing. <\/p>\n<p>The high-powered attorney claimed he \u201cparticipated in conferences with the family representative\u201d to plan out Nick\u2019s defense plan in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson alleged <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/04\/24\/celebrity-news\/rob-reiners-son-jake-its-impossible-to-process-brother-nick-at-center-of-murders\/\">Nick\u2019s siblings, Jake\u00a0and\u00a0Romy Reiner,<\/a> were involved in the communications and \u201cagreed verbally to act as third-party payors\u201d\u00a0for Nick\u2019s defense. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Jackson said he and his firm began spending money on the case after they agreed to defend Nick, who is pictured paid,\u201d he and his firm began spending money on the case, he claimed.<\/p>\n<p>But Jackson said he was told in late December that \u201cnone of the anticipated third-party funding would be provided,\u201d so <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/01\/08\/celebrity-news\/why-nick-reiners-lawyer-alan-jackson-had-no-choice-but-to-quit-murder-case-experts\/\">he decided to quit the case.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jackson insisted he wouldn\u2019t have \u201cdiverted these firm resources, interrupted existing professional commitments, or directed my firm to undertake the extensive work\u201d if he knew he wouldn\u2019t get the funding he was promised.<\/p>\n<p>However, Jackson said he told Nick\u2019s trustee he wants back on the case and is willing to consider alternatives to the rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Billy Bush\u2019s \u201cHot Mic\u201d podcast<\/a> in January, he refused to outright say why he withdrew from the case after he \u201cdropped everything\u201d to defend Nick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, something happened with my ability, and my team\u2019s ability, to continue the representation, but I don\u2019t want you, your audience or anybody else to start speculating as to what that might be. I have not said a word about it,\u201d Jackson told Bush.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson also insisted at the time, \u201cOnce I\u2019m done, I\u2019m done.
