{"id":525,"date":"2026-05-01T21:35:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-01T21:35:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/jon-cryer-details-complicated-relationship-with-charlie-sheen\/"},"modified":"2026-05-01T21:35:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-01T21:35:10","slug":"jon-cryer-details-complicated-relationship-with-charlie-sheen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/jon-cryer-details-complicated-relationship-with-charlie-sheen\/","title":{"rendered":"Jon Cryer details &#8216;complicated&#8217; relationship with Charlie Sheen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/login9ja.com\/global\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/05\/126797809.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>These days, Jon Cryer has somewhat of a winning relationship with his \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d co-star Charlie Sheen.<\/p>\n<p>Fourteen years after Sheen was fired from the beloved sitcom following severe addiction struggles, Cryer partook in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WqQUvfsavO4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Netflix documentary \u201caka Charlie Sheen.\u201d<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was interesting,\u201d the \u201cPretty in Pink\u201d star mused about the September project while<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZLUfEdboQgw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0on\u00a0\u201cThe View\u201d<\/a> Friday. \u201cI had a lot of mixed feelings about being a part of that because obviously he\u2019s a very complicated guy and we had a complicated relationship. But mostly I realized that I wasn\u2019t mad at him anymore: I was still kind of mad at America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sheen and Cryer starred on\u00a0\u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d\u00a0for eight seasons from 2003 to 2011. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Jon Cryer (pictured here on Friday) called appearing in his \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d co-star\u2019s documentary, \u201caka Charlie Sheen, \u201cinteresting.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">ABC\/The View<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Despite having \u201cmixed feelings\u201d about joining in on the project, the \u201cPretty in Pink\u201d actor realized he wasn\u2019t mad at Sheen anymore but was \u201ckind of mad at America.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">ABC\/The View<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>At the time of the \u201cWall Street\u201d star\u2019s firing, Sheen suffered a series of public meltdowns and clashed with the show\u2019s creator, Chuck Lorre.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2011\/12\/08\/charlie-sheen-tweets-phone-number\/\">Sheen also accused Cryer of being a \u201cturncoat, a traitor, a troll\u201d <\/a>for not reaching out to him during his drug battle.<\/p>\n<p>Ashton Kutcher replaced the \u201cMajor League\u201d actor for the show\u2019s final four seasons. Jones). <span class=\"credit\">CBS via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Despite the show continuing without Sheen and instead with Ashton Kutcher, the Broadway performer realized that the public took pleasure when his former co-star (pictured here on the sitcom) \u201cwent off the rails and went crazy.\u201d <span class=\"credit\">CBS via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI knew him as a friend, as a coworker, so it was really painful to see all that and see that craziness and see a lot of people enjoying it,\u201d he continued while on the morning talk show. \u201cSo that\u2019s part of why I kind of wanted to, obviously, say my side of the story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cryer said that the documentary featured people sharing \u201ca lot of very truthful, tough things about Charlie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I thought, \u2018Well okay, if the time is to be honest, let\u2019s be honest,&#8217;\u201d he recalled, adding that the project showed \u201ca lot of who he is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201caka Charlie Sheen\u201d detailed the Hollywood icon\u2019s career, romances and his infamous addiction struggles.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The \u201cNo Small Affair\u201d actor called it \u201creally painful\u201d to see the public enjoying Sheen\u2019s struggles.  <span class=\"credit\">ABC\/The View<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Cryer (pictured here in the September documentary) said he partook in the project after thinking, \u2018Well okay, if the time is to be honest, let\u2019s be honest.&#8217;\u201d <span class=\"credit\">Netflix<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHe did text me afterward at one point to say \u2018Thanks for doing it,&#8217;\u201d Cryer expressed.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201c25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee\u201d star also said he would be open to continuing to repair his relationship with Sheen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, I would,\u201d Cyrer shared. \u201cIt\u2019s funny because every now and then an article comes out that we\u2019re arguing, and it\u2019s just not the case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the doc, the Broadway performer opened up about <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/09\/15\/entertainment\/jon-cryer-reveals-his-two-and-a-half-men-salary-that-was-less-than-half-of-charlie-sheens\/\">not earning nearly as much as Sheen did<\/a> while on the show.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>Cryer revealed that Sheen (pictured here together in 2009) did text him after the doc to thank him for participating.  <span class=\"credit\">Kevin Winter<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><figcaption>The former CBS star also said he\u2019d be open to continuing to repair their relationship with his on-screen brother (pictured here together in 2003). <span class=\"credit\">FilmMagic<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sheen made close to two million dollars an episode during his final year on the sitcom.<\/p>\n<p>Cryer was only earning about $550,000 per episode at that time. [Sheen\u2019s] negotiations went off the charts because his life was falling apart. Me, whose life was pretty good at that time, I got a third of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, last month, Sheen praised his on-screen brother for joining in on \u201caka Charlie Sheen.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was very sweet, very cool that everybody showed up like they did, because they could have easily said, \u2018Go f\u2013k yourself. I\u2019m not interested. I lived it. I don\u2019t need to talk about it again,&#8217;\u201d the former CBS star <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/charlie-sheen-jon-cryer-still-havent-spoken-since-documentary-exclusive-11958237\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told People<\/a>\u00a0at the time. \u201cAnd I would have been, \u2018OK, that\u2019s fine.\u2019 But they didn\u2019t, and they stepped up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for if the pair have further connected, Sheen admitted, \u201cI don\u2019t like to bother people. But I think Jon would be open to that.
