He revealed that he became sick after pushing his body to the limit to complete the extensive body art in just two months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe same way I was reinventing my sound, I wanted to reinvent my body,\u201d MGK, 36, explained.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>MGK\u2019s quest to completely transform his appearance has left him seriously ill, the artist (seen above in December 2025) revealed in a new cover story. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for iHeartRadio<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The \u201cEverything Tatted\u201d rocker (seen above in December 2025) opened up in a new interview about the grueling process behind his massive blackout tattoo. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for iHeartRadio<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The musician (real name: Colson Baker) said celebrity tattoo artist ROXX designed a massive \u201cdark mode\u201d tattoo that <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/article\/machine-gun-kelly-tattoos-meanings-explained\/\">covers most of his arms, chest and stomach<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While the project was originally expected to take two years to complete, MGK insisted on finishing it in a fraction of the time. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe warned me that it was going to be near impossible, even from a pain tolerance standpoint,\u201d he recalled. \u201cI said, \u2018Yeah, we got two months.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Instead of taking breaks to allow his body to heal, MGK spent weeks undergoing daily tattoo sessions at ROXX\u2019s Los Angeles studio.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The musician said celebrity tattoo artist ROXX designed a massive \u201cdark mode\u201d tattoo that covers most of his arms, chest and stomach. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/machinegunkelly<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>While the project was originally expected to take two years to complete, MGK insisted on finishing it in a fraction of the time \u2014 despite warnings about the pain tolerance. <span class=\"credit\">FilmMagic<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAfter the first week, we hit my lymph nodes around my armpits and shoulders, and I got really sick,\u201d he said. \u201cMy skin was turning yellow. I wasn\u2019t able to sleep. I stopped being able to move certain parts of my upper body.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the alarming side effects, the rocker pushed forward, viewing the physically demanding process as a challenge he needed to overcome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI came out the other side extremely inspired,\u201d he said. \u201cNot just because of what I had done, but because of what I had to overcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March, \u201cThe Dirt\u201d actor <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/02\/style\/mgk-gets-sweet-tattoo-tribute-to-daughter-saga\/\">added another tattoo<\/a> to his collection \u2014 which may be the sweetest one of all.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The tattoo artist warned MGK it would be \u201cnear impossible\u201d to complete in two weeks, but the rapper insisted. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for ABA<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Despite the alarming side effects, the rocker pushed forward, viewing the physically demanding process as a challenge he needed to overcome. <span class=\"credit\">Jacquelyn Kozak<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MGK tattooed <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/11\/21\/entertainment\/mgk-dedicates-lost-americana-la-show-to-his-daughters\/\">his daughter\u2019s name<\/a>, \u201cSaga,\u201d in all capital letters on the back of his right hand. Saga is the name of his youngest child, whom he <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/03\/27\/parents\/megan-fox-gives-birth-to-baby-girl-after-mgk-split\/\">shares with ex Megan Fox<\/a>.
