Last year, a man in his 50s was arrested following allegations of an assault which left a woman &#8220;clearly very distressed&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Cameras stopped rolling on May 7, 2025, when a female complained that a fellow extra had forcibly attempted to kiss her. Security on the BBC soap opera, filmed at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Herts, were forced to step in, leading to a scuffle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The man was later handed over to the police. He was subsequently arrested for common assault and sexual assault against two alleged victims. Filming resumed after the incident occurred. Following initial enquiries, he was released with no further action.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">At the time, speaking to <a target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"The SunLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tv\/39401784\/eastenders-extra-cleared-sex-assault\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">The Sun<\/a>, sources had claimed that the incident was &#8220;dramatic&#8221;, adding: &#8220;Everyone was quite shaken by it all.&#8221; The witness said: &#8220;No one could quite believe what was happening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;The main focus was the woman&#8217;s welfare, as she was clearly very distressed. Obviously, filming had to be stopped while the incident was dealt with by production managers and security.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;It got very heated when the man squared up to the security staff as they tried to calm things.
