Loads of lies. Your grandad Kenneth Lingard molested and sexually abused me and you know he did.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The former <a target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester-united-fc\" rel=\"follow\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Manchester United<\/a> and England player flew to the UK from South Korea, where he was playing for FC Seoul, to give evidence in his grandfather\u2019s defence last April.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The footballer, who now plays for Brazilian team Corinthians, denied he had known about any alleged abuse, telling the court: &#8220;If I knew any of these allegations, I\u2019d have cut ties with him years ago.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Lingard, a former gymnastics coach and powerlifter, told the court the assaults &#8220;never happened&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Addressing the court on Monday, Judge Katherine Pierpoint said: &#8220;In the circumstances of this case, having seen the evidence which shows the death of the defendant on June 10 this year, any existing indictments no longer have any legal effect unless the court is shown otherwise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">This is<\/strong><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\"> a Breaking News story.
